dinner saturday night...four people and we all had ribs...my husband and i had baby backs not sauced...they were good, not great but still good...service was very good...had a great waitress...a professional...my vodka pour was very good...salad with dinner was also very good as was the...ranch dressing...onion rings were frozen and not worth eating...others had potatoes and liked them... the restaurant was very busy and still comfortable...this is basically a local rib joint but it has a nice and varied menu with enough choices to please most...good coffee...both regular and decaf and a little better than o.k. and rice pudding...must admit that bbq places are not my favorite but this was a good and very enjoyable meal...and very reasonably priced!More
This has gotten better over the past few years. Portions are large. Good value for money. Items we like include the nachos, ribs, chicken and brisket. Chicken comes BBQ or broasted. Baked potatoes are large as is texas toast. Not a lot of beer or...wine options is weak point. Service is consistently good. More people eating there over time based on size of crowd when we visit.More
The ribs and chicken, not much taste to them, no flavor. One of our guests had to send back the fried shrimp, the next one came and it too was too soggy. Some things, if you don't know how to make, just don't offer it....I do like their Bar b q sauce (even though my option is it is only Open Pit and lots of pepper lol). I also like their potato wedges, ranch dressing and their Cole slaw (if too dry have to order more sauce on the side to add).More
Seven of us went here for dinner on a Sunday night. The prime ribeye ordered was very thin. I had ordered it medium rare It came out medium well. One of the individuals ordered the coconut shrimp, and they were over done. A little too...long in the fryer perhaps. The ribs were good, but not very meaty. The broasted chicken was the winner at the table.
There are a lot of restaurants in the Detroit area. You might want to try another one.More
The Brass Point is a family favorite when we are hungry for BBQ! They have the BEST BBQ sauce! The service and food is great! The portion sizes are huge so if you are not a big eater plan on sharing a dinner with someone...or taking food home.More
Let me begin this review by stating that this is one of my favorite place to come to when I arrive back home, typically during the summer. However I did come back this time during the winter and of course I had to make a...stop at one of my favorite restaurants in Michigan. Now, tonight's experience at the restaurant left me highly disappointed in this establishment. Tonight we ordered the restaurant special which was the family for four meal. This meal consisted of either a whole BBQ chicken side salad a whole slab of ribs baked potatoes or french fries 4 $29 however you do have the other option of receiving a whole broasted chicken a whole slab of ribs salad baked potato or french fries and toasted garlic bread for a total of $32. Tonight we went with my usual favorite which was the broasted chicken with a slab of ribs and the sides. Before arriving at the restaurant we ordered our food ahead of time and was told it would be 20 minutes yet upon arrival we we had to wait 45 minutes for food because the young lady that took her order over the phone mismanaged the order and had everything completely wrong. The Establishment wasn't very sorry or tried to rectify the situation which left me very disappointment. After waiting 45 minutes we decided to just take the broasted chicken meal and go home and eat.
Once we arrived home with our food, we found our food was still hot. The chicken tasted really good minus the ribs. The chicken was fresh and hot. The outer skin on the chicken was broasted to Perfection it had a light brown golden color it was crispy but not overly greasy and the chicken underneath still contained its moisture. The salad and the ranch dressing are my absolute favorite piece of the meal the lettuce was bright green and leafy with colorful cabbage and carrots to a company this item. The Texas toast was toasted really nicely, it was toasted on a thick bread and both sides contain a nice amount of butter too. The fries were very thick and crispy and not too soggy.
Overall, the food was great the service lackluster and it was very disappointing that for my brief stint here I was unable to have one of my favorite meal as usual and I had to take a step down what I say this would deter me from eating at this restaurant probably not but would it make me question the restaurants integrity and taking phone orders correctly absolutely.More
The service was outstanding. Cocktails served well and dinner served quickly. It helped that we arrived about a half hour before the dinner hour and when we left the place was packed. The BBQ was outstanding. So glad we stopped at this place.
