Five of us girls stopped here for lunch. Very friendly, helpful staff. Delicious pasties and gravy. Several different options to choose from. Highly recommend!! 5 Star rating

This was an experience. Our first time in the UP so we headed for a pasty when we hit town. The service was great in this quaint little restaurant. We explained we had never had one and the server did a really good job of...explaining them to us. We went with the original and she gave us gravy, and then said we might need ketchup. The decision was split down the middle. My husband loved them but I was not a fan. But he won out in the end and we brought some home.More

if i could give dirt dobbers half a star I would. This place is the worst restaurant with the worst counter service I’ve ever encountered. The pasties were also $8 a piece, and no matter what kind we ordered, they were mainly bland potatoe with...no flavor. The counter girl was about as mean as she could be with a zero attitude. Terrible everythingMore

The "chicken" pastie was a potato pastie. In the entire pastie, there were 3 small pieces of chicken, each the size of a chocolate chip, with flecks of celery and carrot. I feel really angry that I paid almost 7 dollars for it, and it...is very hard to me to believe the good reviews.More

If you're headed to UP, its worth the stop to check out a local specialty. We stopped once for lunch and a breakfast pastie the next day. Both were very good and the staff were very friendly.

Dobbers has some of the best Pasties in the UP. Would definitely stop again on our travels. They have a large kitchen and eat in areas. We ordered ours to go. They were excellent.

Didn't eat in, but took a dozen home which were awesome. We've had many pasties from the U.P., and have to rate this as one of the top 2. Lots of options to choose from, along with some cute souvenirs from the UP. Didn't see...tables set up (perhaps due to COVID or perhaps because we were there when they opened the doors on a Sunday!). Friendly staff!More

Okay, so the place could use another cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. But the UP is not a glitz and glamor sort of place. So get past any reservations based on first impressions and get a pastie. If you come to the UP...and don't get a pastie, then you really haven't been to the UP. And Dobber's pasties are very, very good.More

Beef pasties were just as I remember. No gravy today but ketchup fine with me. The indoor dining area left a lot to be desired, so we took ours for a picnic in the waterfront park. Out of knives and forks, too. Luckily, we had...our own.More

Been getting pasties in the UP for years. Walked in and there was a leak from the ceiling to the food counter - with little being done to address it. Pasties were bland and not fresh. I’d try Grams.

First of all, the young man behind the counter was rude and could use a job which doesn’t involve customer service. Despite this, I pushed on and left with a lukewarm pizza pasty. I could not find any cheese in it, and cheese is a...pretty recognizable ingredient. It was also too salty for me (and at home I am heavy handed with the salt). Very disappointing. I did like the crust.More

The UP is known for its pasties so don't pass up on the opportunity to have one, two, or three of these delicacies. Dobber's Pasties is a good choice. Located in the heart of Escanaba you can dine inside the cozy cafe or do a...carry out order. I was waited on by a very nice employee who gave me the good news that there were still a few vegetable pasties left. Other options include beef, chicken, and pizza but vegetable pasties are always my favorite. I also purchased one refrigerated pastie (thank goodness) because it was thoroughly enjoyed the following day. As for the pasties, my boyfriend and I were really impressed with the taste and texture of the pasties. For under $5.00 you get a filing meal loaded with veggies and cheese. My only recommendation is adding other vegetables to the mixture. Other than that, the crust of the pasties was flaky and well made. Dobber's Pasties is an authentic place for pasties and worth the visit when in Escanaba.More
