About
We are the new Party Store behind the airport. Tucked away in the woods, hidden behind Delta County Airport, lies a rustic, Yooper-ized Party Store & Patio that gives familiar faces and first-time visitors the same warm welcome you can expect from Yoopers across the Upper Peninsula. A visit to our Drink U.P. Party Store & Patio gives you the opportunity to see our brewery, buy merchandise, and enjoy great beers and snacks onsite at your leisure. Our outdoor spaces are dog-friendly and our brewery has 5-acres of land to let your pooch burn off some energy. We offer more outdoor seating than you can shake a stick at, loads of new merchandise, iconic U.P. snacks, and of course iconic U.P. beer! You can enjoy your beer here, on the patio, with your snacks, and your swag, and the sunshine, and your dog if you'd like. We do not currently serve food, but we do offer loads of iconic U.P. snacks that are perfect for picnics!

We visit here more than any other place when we spend the summers in Escanaba. We always meet friendly people. The entrainment on Tuesdays and Fridays is always fun to listen to. We especially like Tuesday music because it’s not a weekend when it’s busier and there’s not many places to go with weekday entertainment. Tonight, our bartender, Mr. Salo, was the friendliest and most knowledgeable bartender we’ve encountered on our visits.

Stopped in after a morning at the Fair. Our beertender Shawn was wonderful. He was so knowledgeable about each beer and never made anyone feel rushed to make a decision. I finally picked the Mano Superior and I couldn’t of been happier. Looking forward to our next stop

We stopped here this afternoon for a couple of beers. Shawn, the beer tender was very knowledgeable about each and every beer on the menu and was extremely friendly. We enjoy coming here for a couple beers and Shawn made this stop even better!

We read that you can get cheese curds and other “UP” food at the tap room. Not the case. They have good beers but we stopped in, probably before the bar crowd, at about 6PM on a Thursday and it was pretty dead. Bartender was cool but we had a flight and left because it wasn’t all that fun. But maybe worth a stop if you haven’t been here before.

This a great cozy, quiet place to unwind. They have great music, as well as other fun events throughout the year. Gary does an outstanding job pouring beverages, telling stories, and answering questions.

Quaint and fantastic place to meet friends no matter the occasion. See Gary S. for fine UH brews. Blueberry just put on tap is outstanding. Double Sugarbush is a prime grade A brew as well.
Yooper and Deer Camp never disappoint either. Snacks were perfect and the atmosphere welcomes you back.
Anyone leaving less than a 4 star review is not playing with a full deck. Upper Hand is the place to be. See you all at UH soon!

No seating inside. Not family friendly. No growlers offered for takeout. Staff was rude. Beer was good but this was a disappointing stop. Was really looking forward to this stop since we are from Kalamazoo and love Bell's. Sad to say we won't be driving back anytime soon.

My husband and I along with some friends stopped in on our way back to Wisconsin after a weekend at Island Resort to check this place out. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of beer and ciders available. Gary was very knowledgeable on the types of beer they offer and went home with some, our favorite, Deer Camp! Enjoyed listening to music by Jack too. We definitely will be back again soon. Thank you.

This place was a hidden gem to me. Such a nice place to visit. They were all so nice there. I really liked the style of decorating inside. If you are in the area this place is a must go to.

This was my first visit to this little brewery started by Larry Bell. Although he sold it along with his iconic Bell’s Brewery downstate, it still has his mark.
The beers have fun names like “Lemonfish” and “UPA”. There are a variety to choose from with different alcohol levels.
The taproom itself is fairly small but the outside patio area is bigger with a small music stage. Overall it has a good “feel”. There was a wide age range of patrons.
Food is limited to pre-packaged things although a food truck rolled up while we were there.
Lot’s of Upper Hand t-shirts and other branded items were available, including Stormy Kromer hats! (I already owned three of these so I didn’t get another one)
I enjoyed the Lemonish beer so much that I got a can to go as a tallboy to take. home, They can it on order as it is not one that they have for sale in cans, so that was the only way to take it with me.

My bf and I went to the UP for the Trenary Outhouse Classic. We stayed in Gladstone. We discovered that it wasn't that far from the Upper Hand Brewery. Upper Hand is a must for him everytime we are in the UP. So we decided to make a go of it and stop by.
The tap house is very small. Cozy but small. We got there the day they were doing their anniversary beer tap. They were doing a snow shoe walk under the moon. If we hadn't spent the day outside freezing and exhausted, we probably would have done it. But we just didn't have that in us at the time. But damn, that is so cool to do an event like that for a beer launch.
We stayed for the 5pm tapping and my bf was like the 3rd person to try it. We came home with a 6 pack of it. It will be something we grab again if we see it again.
The staff was great. The atmosphere was great. The decor was very beer AND UP based. The can decorations around were impressive. There is a patio also.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that I don't drink beer myself so I can't get the whole experience.
