Great local pub for watching the game

This is a standard, American-style pub, and it stands out not because the food is exceptionally great but because the menu has the standards as well as some nice originals for a change of pace. We tried the Cheddar Stout Dip, for example, and while it wasn't as flavorful as the name implies, it's yummy, warm, fast, and unlike the cheese dip you'll get anywhere else. We also had chicken & fries and fish & chips, and the fries were deliciously seasoned, though the meats looked like something bought and frozen somewhere else. Organic seating inside with lots of seating outside, and plenty of TVs to watch the big game.

Stepped over there since it was close to the Kellogg Hotel, whose restaurant was closed. Food was good, if a bit over-salted, and service was reasonable. Good beer selection. Nothing outstanding, but overall good.

Great place for the game

I came to MSU so stay at the Kellogg Center last week for a recruiting event on campus and couldn’t wait to visit the Harrison Roadhouse to relive the old glory days. It is only a short walk from the hotel and I brought several colleagues on a Wednesday night. It was cold and rainy out so the place was not packed. They have TVs going and lots of cool sports memorabilia on the walls. It looked just like I remember from my student days, but perhaps a little dated (like me). Our server was great and met us immediately and the food was very good – burgers were great. They also have a really nice selection of local craft beers on the list both draft and bottle. This is a great place to hang out and watch the games, I look forward to coming back next time I’m on campus.

Stopped by for lunch while dropping my freshman son off for school and was reminded why I stopped eating here in the 90s. Took almost an hour for my avocado and chicken wrap, which ended up having no avocado and a measly two slivers of chicken. Also, indifferent service. It’s a mystery to me how this place is still in business. I look forward to enjoying other East Lansing restaurants over the next four years.

Nope - Somethings Wrong Here

Arrived before our 8pm Hamilton musical at 5:50pm hoping for a casual dinner before the show. We didn't see our waitress for a good 15 min. Fortunately we ordered right away because our order didn't arrive until 6:55! The food was marginal, my sons medium steak was totally overcooked, my wife's Salmon was burned, and I would say my Cajun Chicken Wrap was good. We felt a rushed to eat since we had a stop to make before the show. I will say the Ambiance is pretty cool, though there are a lot of things wrong the rest of this place. We will probably not be back anytime soon.

Great lunch!

Found here by accident and was very pleased. The white chicken chili was fantastic, as was the clam chowder (gluten-free!). Nice salads too. Want to come back and try other menu items. Clean, great food, friendly active server, very reasonable prices. Their reputation seems well deserved.

Great Wednesday evening dinner

Excellent dinner. I had fish and chips and was very happy with the quality. The service was fast and friendly. Overall I would recommend eating here and will gladly return.

Delicious food, cool place

It said online that they require reservations, which they don't. In fact they were not busy at all. But the place was super cool looking and the food was delicious. The service was good, however it did take a really long time to get our food, but it was very hot when we did receive it. It was really cold out, but I bet the place is pretty hopping in the warmer months. The outdoor patio space looked super cool!

Extremely Noisy & Pricey

We met at Harrison's with a family member (MSU student) in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday. The restaurant was less than 20% occupied and was still so loud that it was difficult to have a conversation at our own table. The acoustics in that restaurant are atrocious! The prices for basically "Bar Food" are extremely high! We were not pleased with the service nor quality and taste of the food we ordered. I'm happy that we met there because I now know NOT where to meet again.

Need a new coach in kitchen

Came here last Saturday before the big rush for first Spartan game. Table pretty quick and ordered a burger. After everyone served around us waitress informs us our order was lost. First fumble. Came following Saturday against Western. Ordered ‘loaded’ nachos with chicken as an appetizer for three. Big disappointment. Mostly chips with a little shredded chicken and cheese. Definitely flag on the play! Decided to order a fairly safe bet...a turkey Ruben w fries and a chicken pesto sandwich w onion rings. No onion rings! Delivered a pastrami Rueben w sauerkraut instead of turkey w coleslaw. Advised the correct order will take another 30 minutes... huh? Doesn’t an incorrect order go to the front of the line? No offense but where’s the defensive line here?! Husband done eating and I’m still waiting...

Girls get together for Bride

Place was picked because of needing a room for a bridal get together. Difficult to get to because of construction. Place was nearly empty at 6 pm on a Saturday. Room was nice. Baily was our waitress. Very sweet young lady. There was about 10 of or so. Menu consists of typical bar food and some usual dinner food. Couple of girls ordered burgers which were cooked according to their request. Mother of the bride ordered a sirloin steak. Nice chunk of beef cooked to her preference. Nicely done. Came with potato halves and a very large portion of broccoli. Two orders of the Penne and cheese and bacon. They said it was very good. A quesadilla was ordered that looked pretty good. I had the Chicken Pierre. Asked for no wild rice. Asked for a side salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Salad was a good basic salad. The chicken was very good. I had the MOTB's broccoli. Was a bit surprised that even when I asked for no rice and ordered a salad that I was still charged for the additional cost of the salad. Should have asked if I could sub the salad for the rice. I had a mimosa that was o special and it was a good mimosa. My bill came to $23.00. Service was pretty slow considering there was less then 20 people in the place. The waitress still got a sizeable tip from me. I am sure it is much busier while school is in session.

Within Walking Distance of Kellogg Conference Center & Hotel

We were in town for an event at the Kellogg and wanted a quick bite on Friday night and was told about the Harrison. Split a sandwich and then the next night I had the Fish & Chips. Nothing special except I could walk there and chill while my wife attended her meetings.

The chili is awesome there, really great flavor and very filling! Other people got sandwiches, quesadilla, salads and burgers. It was all very good. I haven't been here since college days and it was a nice spot to stop in after 20+ years!
