Restaurant has a nice MSU Spartan themed interior. Very clean and bright. The waiter took 15 or more minutes to take our order and I had to flag him down or it would have been much longer. It was like waiting tables was nowhere near...his top priority. There were at least 3 or 4 waitstaff and 5-7 occupied tables. I resigned myself to just catching his attention whenever he was within earshot. It was quite empowering yet still annoying. Refills forget about it. I was getting more than a little impatient when finally the food came. The food was very good thank goodness. My open faced roast beef sandwich tasted fairly good. Not anywhere near great just good enough to eat. The redskin potatoes were really good. The corn medley was crazy good.I was just enthralled with the flavor and texture. My wife got Deep Fried Chicken Tenders. These were as good of chicken tenders as I have ever had. The fresh squeezed lemonade came with free refills. Unfortunately it did not come with very many lemons. It tasted like sugar water with the slightest hint of lemon flavor. They charged about $4 for what I could have made better at the table with lemon water and a ton of sugar packets. The long Island Ice Tea was strong but lacked enjoyable flavor. My wife's Mimosa was absolutely terrible. It was supposedly happy hour and these dry dreary despicable drinks were somewhere in the $6 to $9 range. Not great. My wife had actually run out of things to say at me so I had to put money on the table and flag down the waiter to get the bill. Once I got the bill I immediately paid to prevent going into the waiters time warp again. I put down a $100 bill on a $36 bill and the waiter asked if I wanted change. Was he trying to rub salt into the wound?More
We arrived and I saw that the host assigned a waiter named David to wait on us. How else would I know his name? We sat for atleast 15 min and was never helped. I saw a gentleman, david, pass us numerous times. Smirking and...grinning as if he knew he wasn't going to help us. I finally spoke up to a different waitress named Reagan and she said she would help us. I decided to "mad dog" David the rest of the time I was there and he tried his best to avoid my stares. When leaving I asked the host if his name was David and she said yes. Confirming my suspicion of him being racist. This mine and my family's first time there and it will be our last. I have pics for evidence. Please let me know which email to send these photos of David and where we sat at. I am extremely hurt and my wife is just as offended.More
First if all I apologize for such an experience. We have a very ethnically diverse team here, racism has never been an issue with our staff. Please call, our director of operations would like to make contact with you to discuss your experience! Thanks, Spartan...More
Conveniently located, excellent selection of food with many healthy choices and great service. Upscale sports-bar-type environment/atmosphere. Great meeting place for business meetings.
Ate dinner at Spartan Hall of Fame Cafe last evening. Ordered an appetizer that was delivered after our dinner arrived. Server was slow to refill our water and pop. I ordered Cajun Shrimp Alfredo, and while the shrimp was very good, the Alfredo sauce was...tasteless, thin and runny. Overall very disappointed in our meal.More
We had 15 family members meeting here from all over Michigan for a get together with relatives from England. Service was fantastic!!! The manager & staff were very helpful (went above & beyond expectations) & were accommodating to everyone. Food was great, prices were in...normal range and portions were good size. The Nacho platter was super huge & loaded to the max~ "THANK-YOU" for making it a GREAT night for our party!!!!More
We had dinner and a couple of drinks at this place. We thought for sure the place would be packed on a Saturday night, but was pleasantly surprised that it was not and we were seated immediately. We ordered a couple of drinks which were...good and had a tasty meal. The service was good and the rates were very reasonable. I would return.More
Went here for Fathers Day 2019 to get their Sunday specials. Although their Sunday specials seem like a great price be advised that the portions are very small. I got 4 ribs that were about 3 inches wide with very little meat on them. I...would say it was less then 1/8 rack of rib. Than a small scoop of mashed potatoes and the same size of corn. Guess its true you really get what you pay for. Not worth 10.00.More
Plenty of menu options and decent prices. Nice atmosphere and lot of room for bigger crowds. Took my son and 3 of his college buddies and had a great time! Service was great and food was very good.
Maybe because neither of us were really hungry that this place failed to impress us. It was brisket night and the flavor was fair but it was a bit tougher than I’ve had elsewhere. Wished afterward that I’d had ordered the meatloaf. Sweet potato waffle...fries were good. Had the appetizer sampler and the included chicken strips that were about the best I’ve ever had. Onion rings were very good but the spinach dip was a little dry on top. Wife had the lobster brusque and she said it was good. The staff was very friendly especially “Mo” the greeter.More
