Went to Rose's on 9-24-21 for our daughter's B-day. We have eaten at Rose's in the past and have always had a great meal. Not this time. Waited for a table for 30-min after being told it would be 10-15. We we're brought to our...outside table that had not be cleaned, with food on the table and ground. Had to wait for the table to be wiped, which was then nice and wet. The chairs were not cleaned, nor was the food on the floor. After waiting 10 min for a wait person to come to our table, we gave up and flagged down a worker. Our waiter, Adam, came and was not very friendly. We had to waive him down for things throughout our meal. He would come and go quickly without waiting for us to finish telling him what we needed. The food was mediocre, at best. The steak came well done when it was ordered medium. The hamburger was medium when ordered well done. The mac and cheese was bland. The salmon overcooked. Forgot wine that was ordered until we were just about finished with dinner (asked for it 3x). The only good thing was the bruschetta and the bar staff. Needless to say, a very disappointing experience, except for the visiting duck. At least he cleaned up some of the food on the ground. $200 bill. Won't be back.More

You cannot go wrong here with the variety and quality. Service is efficient and friendly. Out table of 6 left very satisfied. Salads were fresh and delicious. The Walleye is amazing.

Our first time here. We ended up eating inside due to the heat. The view of the lake would have been better seated outside, but you could still see some of it where we were seated. The meal was average - we had the steak....It needed more seasoning. The waitress was a little rough, but efficient.More

Seated outdoors overlooking the lake. Service was very good as was the food. We were there for lunch and saw several activities going on at the lake. A highlight was the local high school rowing team go by

Sadly, it was an experience that could have been avoided. I was served a bad piece of chicken when I ordered Parmesan encrusted chicken. The very first bite made me sick to my stomach. The manager only made excuses and acted as if he didn’t...believe it. Others at my table could smell the piece of chicken and smell that it was spoiled. It looked like a bad piece of chicken and maybe even undercooked. Proper response or apology would have left me with a better feeling, as Rose’s has always been a favorite place to dine. My concern that I would get sick trying to let them fix it, as I already was feeling ill from that bite of chicken, made me say it was ok and refused any other food. I continued to enjoy my family and friends and overheard the manager talking to employees about it in the background. It was the most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant.More

A great place - especially in summer - to entertain, Rose's is perfect for entertaining friends or family with a beautiful view across Reeds Lake. BUT....the food feels very 'phoned-in'. Bland, close-to-the-edge flavours kept each meal from being better than they could've been and just...the tiniest effort could've made each them that much better. The walleye was good, not great. The tacos, super-bland. The special eggplant parmesan (very bland), you get the gist. It just felt like they were not 'taste-testing' their meals and have no idea that there's a a host of herbs and spices that could make everything that much better. All said, the meals were supplanted by the great view. So, go for the view, just don't expect much from the food.More

A better than average joint by the lake. We were there for lunch in February, and the place was bright, warm, and cozy. Food was above average. Great fish and chips. Burgers great (although one a bit dry). Decent selection of on tap beers. Would...go again.More

We make a special trip to Grand Rapids just to eat the wonderful farro salad at Rose's. We've had other entrees also that are just as delicious. The restaurant is clean and the service is wonderful. The serve staff are so friendly and go out...of their way to make you feel welcome. The heated porch is especially pleasant because you get a great view of Reed's Lake, which is very picturesque. There are fireplaces that add to the appeal.More

I was unexpectantly back in Grand Rapids, MI with my bride and my sister, we all have warm memories of Rose’s. Our return visit did not disappoint. We had a wonderful evening filled with great memories and awesome food. I had never had a Farro...salad before, but found it delicious and unusual. I haven’t seen this salad on a menu before. The grilled pork tenderloin is outstanding, cooked to perfection. My bride went for the fish and chips and she said the “ best she’s ever had “ and she knows her fish and chips. 😃 Reservations are highly recommended. This is an awesome restaurant on beautiful Reeds Lake. It is a wonderful spot for lunch or dinner. Enjoy! 😊More

Some interesting foods and presentations in this pleasant lake-side setting. Excellent attentive service. Enjoyed the potato crusted walleye. Moderately eclectic wine list with reasonable pricing. Free valet parking
