Wife and I found this place while antique shopping. The burgers were great and so was the service. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

We recommend the Wounded Minnow not only because of the great food menu and pizza’s but, because of the quality of the food and the portion sizes! You get really yummy fresh prep food and lots of it ......we always have to take home our...leftovers ........the place is always clean and Lisa the bartender is super woman she deserves employee of the decade ......she has been there 18 years and works her butt off ......she is efficient, professional, and fun fun fun!! It’s hard to find dedicated hard-working bartenders like Lisa you go girl!! We will see you every chance we get to Dowagiac🥰👍🏻👍🏻 I miss the soup and salad bar but I’m sure it will be back after the Covid crisisMore
The Wounded Minnow has always been a favorite for my family. Even during Covid, the food is as good as ever and the service is still just as fast. The special baskets for families have been really convenient, and the daily specials are always killer....The Chicago dog basket I had today knocked it out of the park, with $6 for a basket of fries, a pickle, and a jumbo sized all beef hotdog topped with all fresh Chicago style toppings. Businesses have been hit hard by Covid, but the Minnow has managed to stay just as fresh and tasty as ever. Glad I stopped in for lunch!More
The Anniversary couple is back❤️We are not only happy with the Wounded Minnow because that is where we meet 11 years ago.... we love the Wounded Minnow because the food is GREAT, Lisa is the best server in Southwest Michigan, the prices are more than...fair and the place is always clean!! I had the chicken wings and they were so good it reminded me of my high school years in Buffalo, New York! I love it that they sell wings by the bucket.... that’s the true Buffalo way!! Ed had the ham sandwich and it was stacked with ham and goodness... so big he took half of it home👍🏻 Thank You to Kyle and his great staff for another yummy Anniversary🥰More
we went there to have a nice meal and we got that - I got the fried cod, two others in our group got the chicken tenders basket and one got appetite sampler - all very good - server was very good - but know...this is a saloon and some people sitting at the bar got pretty loud at times - Zeke's nearby has a better restaurant setup but the Wounded Minnow had better food -More
Wounded Minnow is the best! The food is always hot and delicious and very fairly priced. We enjoy the fresh hot pizza as well! My boyfriend and I met there 10 years ago and when we are in Dowagiac we always make a stop at...the Wounded Minnow, the staff is not only efficient and fun, they have become our friends. Special thanks to Kyle, Lisa, Faith and Sally for always making our visits fun especially our 10 year Anniversary 🥰More
This is the go to place in Dowagiac. Very busy but able to serve the customers. I usually get burgers. They are delicious!
We have been to this restaurant a few times and the food and service have always been fairly good. Last night was terrible. My husband and I both ordered the Blue gill, it was the worst fish we have ever had. We told the waitress,...and she said she was sorry. Too Bad it will be a long time before we go back, if at all. The only good thing we had was the salad bar.More
My wife and I came here yesterday for lunch and were one of the few customers here. I only noticed one waitress, and it seems to be more of a bar atmosphere. I'm sure they get much busier during the evening hours. The waitress was...friendly and attentive. I would like to see more food options as the dinner menu is not available during lunch hours. The Italian Beef and steak sandwiches were ok, but some fat left on them. The environment is unique. I would definitely come back if I lived in the area.More
We picked this restaurant based on the clever name and after checking out other reviews. Blue gill was very good. Best we had in forever plus it was baked! The Minnow Sampler was tasty and generous. Highly recommend.
The Minnow is one of Dowagiac’s go to places. During nice weather the patio is swinging on a Friday night. The beer is cold and the food is good. You can get a burger, nachos, pizza and one of my favorites fish and chips.
Disappointing dining experience. Our server worked tremendously hard but seemed to have too many tables in separate rooms. We waited too long for drinks and had a view into kitchen where we watched our food sit untouched too long. The odor coming from the open...door to the kitchen was not good. Food was decent. We did not order nachos but neighboring tables did, and they looked amazing. Restroom facilities seemed to literally be falling apart. A little attention to infrastructure and management could make this a place to return too.More
We were there with a bunch of elderly people in town for their 65th High School Reunion (Sister and I were escorting our Mom). First thing I noticed was that the restaurant had set everyone up in a place with easy access for everyone. The...service was prompt and appeared that everyone was satisfied with their food. Mom and I each got the Friday special of All you could eat Fish. ...only there was plenty on the first serving so that was all we could eat! LOL My fish was cooked Just right. Crispy on the outside but fishy on the inside. Perfect. The fries were crispy/tasty. I didn't love the coleslaw - but I think it's more just me. Not a huge fan. Mom and I both agreed that the tartar sauce was a little bland. The cornbread was actually Johnnycake (i.e. a little sweeeeeter). Sister had a burger with fries and said it was tasty. The place IS a bar first and as it got later in the evening, the bar crowd was moving in. As we were finishing up our meals, a guy was setting up for the Karaoke that would be starting around 9 or 9:30ish. Our long table was set up in that area. He worked around us and when he started up the music, he actually kept it a very decent level until we were heading out. Then all the younger crowd started moving in and music went up accordingly. The place has an outside area as well. I didn't think that the food was overpriced for the value. Not a lot to choose from in the area but I really enjoyed this place and would definitely hang out here if I lived in town.More
I am very disappointed to see the Wounded Minnow go from a Great Bar with Great Food to a expensive Place with mediocre food! :(
They have always had good food! They actually catered my cousins wedding, and I was very impressed with that. A company I used to work, we always had our Christmas parties there. We were treated nicely.
