We have always had great food and drink items here. We especially like the smoothies and toasts. Calling ahead is recommended because everything is made to order and if there is a line it may be several minutes before your order is ready….and it’s always...worth the wait.More

Great coffee drinks and breakfast food. The Avocado Toast with egg was delicious as was the Breakfast Wrap. It was nice they stayed open later, too.

We ordered two black regular coffees and once we paid, the lady told us they were out of regular, but house blend and decaf were available. Decaf? No thanks! So, we opted for the house blend, thinking it was another type of regular coffee. Once...we left, we took off our masks, took our first sips, and yuck! It was a (hazelnut? Vanilla?) flavored coffee. Serving regular black coffee seems like a requirement for any coffee shop. Not everyone is a fan of flavored coffees. Oh well. We found delicious regular black coffee elsewhere.More

My wife was showing me around the area, and we stopped here for a small breakfast. It is a very cute shop and the service was excellent. They are aware of social distancing and we waited outside to order, then ordered the Michigan Maple waffle...and bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. There are many coffee, latte, cappuccino etc options. They were both very tasty and we were very satisfied that we stopped here.More

Respite was a cute place with delicious coffee however when we visited about 11am, they were out of almost all the food so we ended up getting something that we wouldn't normally order. The breakfast sandwiches were good but the smoothies were underwhelming for the...price. I would definitely give it another try though because their menu looks delicious and it has a really relaxing atmosphere.More

If you have over 2 hours to wait for 2 iced coffees and a breakfast sandwich, which we never got,, this is the place for you. I would have given it no stars if I could. People behind us got their drinks and food before...we did. When I asked them about at least our drinks, they seemed like I was bothering them and offered up no explanation. When I checked after an hour, my drinks were sitting on the counter with melted ice, after they had said they would bring them out. When she tried to give them to me, I asked for fresh. She didn't know how long they had been sitting there. I had to ask for one to be made again because I ordered coconut milk and she made it with regular milk. She said they were incredibly busy, but we saw people come and go after us with their food and drink. There were many other people that were waiting like we did. I always prefer to use locally owned businesses, but am really wishing there was a Tim Horton's nearby. I finally went in a 3rd time, approaching 2 hours, to ask about our single breakfast sandwich again after I asked a couple, who walked in, got their food, and left said they ordered theirs a half hour after I did. They didn't know where my sandwich was. They could have just made it right there as I made it evident that everyone else was served, even after we had ordered ours. They didn't. At that point, I just asked for a refund because they have no clue about customer service. They refunded my sandwich, which we were looking forward to, after a long morning hike. Believe me, I was calm, and didn't talk down to them, but was very frustrated and voiced my concerns.More

Stopped here twice while in the area: once for afternoon coffee, and again for breakfast. Cute spot, friendly service and interesting menu. We loved our coffee and food. Had the Dat Haas avocado toast and added basil oil and feta, and it was wonderful. My...husband loved his oatmeal.More

Fresh baked goodies and the best Toasted Coconut latte anywhere. Laid back little place with cafe tables in and out and the place smells delicious. Downtown Douglas and quaint surroundings. My go-to when finishing up my 6 mile daily walk. Always finish up with a...coffee treat as my reward.More

What can you say about a coffee shop? This is more than just a coffee shop! The old-timer strumming the guitar and singing the songs AND the hardy loyal local small-town clientele make this place an experience that goes far beyond whatever brew that they...might be serving. It is a rare jem! Advice to anyone passing through: take it in on a weekend before it fades into the twilight of a bygone Americana.More

Great pastries and fantastic coffee. The ladies behind the counter are welcoming. Coffee and espresso are definitely worth a look. Great little patio outside to eat or relax with coffee solo or with friends.

Had the coffee of the day and an Americano. Enjoyed sitting in the shop so much we added on a granola and fruit for breakfast. They have a great, healthy menu along with plenty of pastries. The coffee was good and the service was friendly.

We love Respite for coffee and tea but it's the breakfast options that keep us coming back. The Acai bowls are amazing and the gourmet coffees are fantastic. This is an unprentious, welcoming, high quality cafe with a loyal following and great coffee and tea....The service is always friendly too! Highly recommend it!More
