My husband and I like to share a flight. They have many choices of IPAs, ales, stouts, sours, ciders and meads. During the summer it is fun to sit outside and watch the happenings in town while we have our drinks. We like to end...our evening with a walk about town.More

I made the mistake of thinking that this would be like the Beer Grotto in Ann Arbor, but apparently the two are not connected. The difference is most apparent in the service. I sat down at the bar in front where there was only one...other customer, and I sat there for 10 minutes while the bartender walked back and forth, totally ignoring me. Finally I went to the bar in back, where I got served, but they were not exactly overflowing with warmth. If you don't like people, why are you in the service industry?More

Went there with 2 other couples. Have outside seating, seating in the front and seating in the back. We sat in the back and there were tables with tall chairs but also comfy chairs with low tables where you could play a board game. Large...screen TV and clean restrooms. Very wide selection of on tap beer and wide wine selection. Were great about offering samples. Waitress was great and remembered our whole order correctly. Gave us free popcorn although had too much pepper on it. Would definitely hang out there with our friends again.More

I love going to the Beer Grotto. They always have a terrific selection of beers and wines to choose from. Of course, they usually have one of my favorites on tap, in case I don't find something new I like. The staff is super friendly...and is always willing to help you find something that will suit your tastes or recommend one of their favorites. They also have specials like $10 growler fills on Thursday nights, on select (and rotating) beers. All in all, a great place to visit for a beer, a game of darts, or just to hang out with friends and make some new ones.More

Just a great place to come and enjoy the laid back atmosphere. A greaet late night place to go when you don't want to go home yet

While I'm happy to have choices, I think this was our last visit to the Beer Grotto. There is a nice selection of beers but the service is unreliable and sometimes, as on this last visit, terrible. We were largely ignored over the time we...were there which required trips to the bar to get our own drinks, and eventually the bill. In general, the crowd skews a little more hipster. We've had better experiences at the lesser known Null, a larger, more comfortable space, with a consistently superior staff. No connection with either, just my experience at both.More

One of a kind in Dexter. A fun place to meet, drink, and talk. Lots of different beers on tap. Very good deal on 'sampling different beers'. Pleasant environment with both inside and outside sitting areas.

Beer Grotto is a welcome addition to downtown Dexter. They have a vast menu offering a multitude of beers to taste. I recommend going with a sampler so you can try a variety at once. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly and are willing to...help you choose a beer that fits your taste. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a back lounge that features comfortable couches and tvs. When I was there they let me put whatever I wanted on the television. Overall, a nice spot to enjoy a few sips on a lazy day in Michigan.More

Came here on Friday, Feb, 26 for a date night with my Mister. The bartender was so soft spoken, grumpy, and just down right unfriendly we almost left. He obviously did not want to be at work and it just gave the whole experience a...bad feel. Finally, we decided to ignore him and try to have a good time anyway. The beer selection is awesome and the environment is fun!More
