Standby is a creative cocktail Bar located in an area called “The Belt”. Tucked in a sleek alley a d surrounds by murals this venue offers my favorite cocktails In Detroit. It’s a great place to bring a small group of friends, and the cocktails...and staff are incredible. Love the menu (it’s organized by a base spirit), move the ice service (large, clear vibes), and love that it stays open until 2:00 am. A James Beard finalist, the venue still operates with humility and. Delivers attentive, exceptional service.More

Not impressed! Should have noticed that we were the only patrons eating. The bourbon drink I had was called the dulse. It was marginal at best. The pancake and chicken plate was uninspired and in my opinion the flavors contradicted each other as opposed to...complimenting them. My date had the cheeseburger, the beef was flavorless other that the earthy after taste. If I had a buzz upon walking in and had only cocktails it may have rated higher. Advice , skip the food , enjoy the music and stick with drinksMore

Best cocktail bar in Detroit, located in downtown, not too big, more secluded and excellent vibe. Fancy and edgy place, amazing cocktails and drinks.

Stopped in while in the area for dinner. We had a group of eight and no reservations so we stood for our drinks. Stood selection of craft cocktails to inspire you to try something different. Dinners from other patrons looked pretty good.

Benton old fashioned, new holland beer and a citrus cooler, 2 cheeseburger and fries, dry aged New York strip, chicken and corn pancake and a fisheye farm salad. The citrus cooler was fresh and tart. Ronald waited on us. He’s nice and friendly and knowledgeable...and attentive. My step-dad lover his New York strip was melt in your mouth good. My mom and husband loved their burgers. I enjoyed the chicken and pancake. The kimchi slaw was tasty and good. The pancake wasn’t bad but slightly bland. The chicken was nice and crispy. The salad was okay, very earthy, the dressing was tasteless. It was an enjoyable night before heading off to the DIA.More

Cool cocktail bar. Very busy on a Saturday night but we were able to get seats at the bar. Very interesting cocktail menu, all the drinks we ordered were very good. Very friendly service.

We visited this bar after a lively concert at LCA and I feel like we got a second concert for the price of a few craft cocktails and dessert. The set list has everyone jammin’ - one hit after another! I don’t think anyone at...this place wasn’t belting out the lyrics to Mariah Carey. The drinks are strong, big pours, and creative. The bartenders were fun and friendly. Located off the hip belt alley this is a not to miss stop.More
