Like a local, homemade, and better Starbucks. Trendy. Very good baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch sandwiches. Drinks are ok. Somewhat hard to order because food displayed always seems to be in the way and the place is noisy.

This has become my family's favorite breakfast spot in Detroit. Great baked goods of all kinds. You know it's a hit when the kids ask to go back the next morning! Best of all, you're supporting an independently owned small business!

Amazing bakery and nice coffee. In my opinion the coffee could be better, but not the food. The atmosphere is very friendly. The community feeling is in the air.

Avalon has been around for a number of years now, and grown from a small independent bakery to one that excels in bread making. They supply many of the restaurants in Detroit area as well as the community in general. They have spoiled me when it comes to bread. There's are the among the best along with zinger man;s in... This bakery is pretty fabulous. Once a week, a friend stops on her way to work and picks up warm honey buns. They are to die for! Stop in and pick up something. You will not be sorry.

Wonderful bakery in Midtown. Love the flour-less chocolate cakes! Tasty sea-salt chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter brownies. Nice staff.
