We were first introduced to Mikes about 10 years ago. And from our first bite we just could not believe the deliciousness that the owner/cook puts out.. He cuts several pieces on nice roll with optional cheese & mustard. Don’t miss trying the soups -...either split pea or bean w ham. My friend chooses to go with ham & eggs instead of the soup n sandwich. We travel about 80 miles round trip - so we don’t get there often. We know we’ll be back just not sure exactly when. Thank you to the owner and his waitress!!!More

Use to go to Mike's Famous Ham Place many times in the 70's and 80's for lunch when I worked at Detroit Free Press. I'm retired in Florida and wish they delivered to Florida.

I had heard so many great things about Mike's Famous Ham, I had to try it. It truly is the best ham I've tried. A simple ham and eggs plate never tasted sooo good. Will definitely go back!

Sometimes simple can be better. And Mike's Famous Ham House proves the point. There are only four items on the menu and all are excellent. It is the best place in the Detroit area for a ham sandwich. The ham is very juicy and flavorful,...the sandwich is thick and served on a soft roll with or without a slice of cheese. The soups are made in house using meat pieces and bones from their hams. It is always a difficult decision whether tho have the bean or pea soup with the sandwich as both soups are excellent. For someone who wants the best ham sandwich in the southeastern Michigan area without or without a bowl of soup, I most highly recommend Mike’s Famous Ham Place.More

I love this place. Their simple menu is done so well. I wish all restaurants would adopt this strategy. Do a few things very well rather than doing many things poorly. Keep it simple stupid (KISS) The ham is moist, delicious; not sweet, not overly...salted No fancy glaze - it is just right. Love their sandwiches - mustard and pickle perfection. I purchased a tray of ham just for Easter. Best way to keep a big dinner stress free. Very affordable and friendly service.More

Usually stop in for a ham sandwich or pea soup. But stopped by for breakfast after staying the night at the casino. I ordered half a breakfast and was more than enough. Two eggs in the middle of the plate surrounded by ham. Toast and...coffee. With it being a half order I still took food home. Love their ham!!!!!More

Reading through the other reviews was enlightening. I only make it to Mike’s about twice a year because ham isn’t really in my diet. Having said that the place is reminiscent of when I grew up in Detroit. The owner and his wife genuinely care...about what they serve and do it well. The breakfast plate is generous and if you’re not real hungry get the smaller portion. Same goes for the sandwich although they will wrap anything you order, to go with a smile. Don’t go in unless you want ham otherwise you will be disappointed. Great place to eat and quick service. If they had mayo they would get 5 stars.More

Mike's famous ham palace is totally unassuming from the outside. Looks like just another dumpy diner from the outside. The type of place you could pass a thousand times without noticing. But you'd be missing the magic. Best ham sandwich east of Wichita. I'm a...large guy but i usually split a Mike's Ham sandwich with someone. Its a LOT OF HAM. Very enjoyable.More
