I think the draw of this place is not so much for the food but the rowdy and energetic vibe after a game. The beer selections are good. This is or go to after a wings game well into the nose bleeds. I have had their buffalo chicken salad and their hockey town burger, food is all decent. Come to be social and just to be around die hard hockey fans.

Very cool atmosphere. My number 1 complaint is that it is very off-putting to be served an expensive drink in a plastic cup. To the manager, use real glassware for dine-in adults.

I went downtown (Detroit) for a hockey game in Ocotber 2019. I had a friend in from out of town and wanted to show him all the sports memorabilia inside Hockeytown, so we stopped in for dinner.

Disappointing all around. Beers served in plastic cups, rubbery chicken wings and greasy pretzel sticks. Subpar service and refusal to change sports games even though they claim to be a “Sports Bar”. 1⭐️ Would very much avoid

The employees were nice but food wasn’t that good especially for the price. I’ve had better fries at a fast food restaurant for half the price. I also ordered the Rooftop Sandy-which. The bun was cold and pork was barely warm. The taste itself was just okay, definitely not worth $17.

We stopped here for dinner before a Red Wings came. Only a 5 min walk from LCA. Busy but fun and not too loud atmosphere before the game. Our meals were delicious. The 3 of us had - Chicken Clubhouse, Chicken Caesar Wrap and Italian Grinder. And we were all pleased, generous, but not overwhelming portions, came with very good fries and a side choice. We had a 30 min wait which didn't seem too bad for a game night. Our service, once seated was very good. Prices were reasonable - better than inside LCA! I would definitley go back if the opportunity arises.

If you set your expectations low, and then prepare to be discounted will be ok. It is located near the sporting venues, how can you not be prepared for events? Warm beer, yep they have that. Want a mixed drink, expect it in a 8oz Dixie cup. They are out of glasses. And the food, mediocre at best. Our expectations were low but this was ridiculous

Hi Jim, thank you for your consistency on Facebook and TripAdvisor to let us know about your recent experience at Hockeytown Cafe. On large event nights when we have pre-parties, we serve our drinks in plastic cups to reduce the risk of broken glass all around the restaurant. There are 3 levels of parties that our customer's can take their drinks up and down our stairs. On a regular week night, all of our alcoholic drinks are absolutely served in glass barware. Myself and the GuestPath coordinator would love to correct your experience. Can you please message me directly at htc_info@delawarenorth.com with further details on the beer you had and the food you ordered so that we can ensure you have an exceptional experience the next time you visit with us. Thank you for your feedback and patience.

Post Tigers Family of Six early dinner No wait, great atmosphere, wasn’t too busy. Server was very nice. Beer was great, all the food was excellent. Cheese bread and fries were super hot and fresh. Kids Mac n cheese was excellent, great quality. So good I would have eaten it, great thick white cheese sauce over cavatappi. Salad was good. Pretzel sticks very good. Didn’t get quite enough cheese sauce for the pretzels, and the salad was different to eat, the plate wasn’t big enough. The basement bathrooms were a little odd, but overall we had a nice experience.

Came here for dinner and drinks after attending a tigers game in August. Food was a bit disappointing but still worth coming and checking out the hockey memorabilia all over the restaurant on the walls

I have been to the one in the airport before. This one is located down the street from the Fox theatre. We had some time to kill before the concert and decided to grab a bite to eat. We walked down the street and finallt decided we would stop here. Everything was good...I don't remember what we had at this moment .

Took forever for the hostess to even come up and acknowledge the line forming at the door, was told 25 min wait but it took about an hour to get seated. The place wasn't busy... AT ALL... our waitress was nice enough but after she took our order it was about another hour before our food came. The food was a mixed bag... some of it was fresh and hot while some had definitely been sitting out for a long time and was completely cold and stale. The staff seemed to all be just chilling out like this was completely normal ...we definitely will not be back!

Had an early dinner here last Saturday. The bikes all belong to Illitch . . ok, but what does that have to do with hockey? lol. Was cool seeing the photos on the wall of former Allstars! There was no wait so that was nice. We had really good service. The food was pretty good . .had the pulled pork . .that was tasty. The pasta salad was really good. Burnt Ends for an appetizer - not bad - chicken clubhouse was good and pretzels not bad. The bad part is that there are restrooms in the basement and it is a tad creepy down there especially since there was no one around . .I ran into some inebriated homeless guy in the stairwell on my way back up. He scared the heck out of me . .. this is definitely a security issue that anyone can just walk down there . . . . .

One of the worst experiences ever. Big delays to be seated, serving very slow, food quality poor. And there were no major events in the area except the Fox!

We stopped here for a beer and an appetizer before a show at The Fox. had.The beer was reasonable and the fried pickles were the best I've had. We were upstairs so it's nothing fancy. But I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
