In the past we have had an excellent experience at the Whitney. We had not been there in a couple years and were looking forward to another great dinner. Unfortunately, this time, our experience was completely different. Well our waitress was nice, from the beginning...More

This is an upscale venue, so if you don't mind paying upscale prices for this gem in Detroit, you shall do well. Building, food, service, priceless!

I visited with medium-sized group for a special celebration..Overall, the mansion was very interesting and most service was friendly. In general food was okay but portions were way too small. Some choices contained no starch. My partner had the salmon, but only one tablespoon of...More

I loved the tour and the history. Food is good. Perhaps my only complaint is the limited menu for the brunch.

The food is delicious! Our server Ann is perfect, we always request her. Dessert bar on second floor amazing! Then drinks at the ghost bar. Not over pricey compared to other places. Going back tomorrow, my favorite place!

I went in with my adult daughters for brunch but was aggressively informed that they do NOT allow professional cameras in the Whitney. I expressed that it was alright because I am not using the photos in a professional capacity. They PRESSED the point! By...More

Friend invited me there and it's quite a sight. Very posh place, but I have to admit, it even smells European and feels like it's centuries old. It has been completed in 1894 and contrary to my experience with "Victorian" houses in San Francisco and...More

I received a gift certificate for my 50th birthday to The Whitney. As a result, I went on-line to review menu options and I decided to go for High Tea and a Champagne Tour with my mother. It was such a lovely afternoon! The staff...More

The atmosphere at the Whiney is unmatched. There is so much to see in the old lumber baron's mansion and the food was just as wonderful. This is a must for anyone traveling to the area. You won't be disappointed.

I would give them a call. We walked up front steps to get in but honestly did not notice a ramp (wasn't looking for it either). There is an elevator inside to get to the other floors.
