When we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess and the owner. Asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. It was our 35th Anniversary. After that point, it seemed that every employee knew. Our waitress, Lisa, was the best. Great recommendations, service, personality. Food was delicious, best calamari I have ever had, homemade pasta! Atmosphere was wonderful. After our... More

I came here at 6:30pm after a day of exploring Downtown Detroit. I made a reservation beforehand as was promptly seated upon arrival. I used valet, which was $5, as the areas is sketchy and since it was going to get dark soon, I wanted to be safe. The bread, which was free, was decent. The house salad was good... More

This gem is located in an almost surreal setting adjacent to a huge Marathon Oil facility. But please don't let that deceive you. Once we stepped inside, I was back in my beloved Italy. From the welcoming hostesses to the outstanding waitpersons (the lovely Dawn and Lori) to the skilled Master Chef Randy Truant, this establishment is clearly the reflection... More

If you love Italian...say no more. This is the place. For as hard as you'll work to find it, the more you'll enjoy your meal. Totally safe area, just off the beaten path. The pictures of the luminaries who have eaten here only add to the charm and ambiance. It is a gem. A total gem. Family-owned and operated. They'll... More

Giovanni's house-made pasta is fabulous. Do not miss the calamari strips or the linguine with white clam sauce - they are worth hiding from anyone you share a table with! Off the beaten path but well, well worth the trip.

What a find - This fantastic restaurant has just served me the best Italian food Inside or outside of Italy! The calamari, minestrone soup to the the lasagne was top notch. A big thank you to the owner Frances, fantastic host, made us so welcome. I'm returning to this restaurant next week, the seafood looked great, however, so did the... More

This place is still fantastic after all these years. Food and service are always great. Never had or heard of a bad experience here. Everyone loves the lasagna. Might be the best I ever had.

This place is in a really terrible location, surrounded by oil refineries and vacant land. The food is excellent as is the service. Fine dining at its best. Linen tablecloths and napkins, pasta made fresh to order, deserts made in house.

We were delighted to find Giovanni's quiet and uncrowded on this particular afternoon. Debbie was our our exceptional waitress - patient, kind and very accommodating with my pickier dining companion. Wine list is a good one. Entree prices were very reasonable. The warm garlic-butter bread was mouthwatering. Minestrone was tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed my eggplant with a side of thin... More
