Classic Detroit bar with great bar food. Don't expect to walk in this place on a weekend night or when there's any big event in town without waiting a couple of hours. Its definitely an IT spot for a Wings game night. My bestie and I usually get an early lunch at the bar after some volunteer work in the city on Sundays. A couple of cans of beer and a few sliders always hits the spot. It may be simple but the cucumber app is spot on. And we always get truffle fries - they are perfect every time.

We walked in just as they were closing (early) due to being short staffed but they still seated us and in no way rushed us out. They were very helpful with menu explanations and suggestions and our food came out hot and tasty. The fries are genuine shoestring cut and super yummy. The atmosphere is very old downtown bar. I am glad I got a sneak peek of this place and definitely will be back.

First time at Green Dot Stables. Busy on a Friday night but were seated fairly quick. Limited beer selection but great slider selection, Great service throughout, We tried several different sliders, cheeseburger, grilled cheese, philadelphia cheese steak and a fried bologna, Alll very good, The best of all, a very reasonable price. Stop in at Green Dot Stables for a good slider.

I always wondered about this place because it's always on the list of favorite places to go. I walked in and it was maybe 4 other customers seated. I get the some bars have that dark and moody light look, but this place look like where dreams go to die. Lots of staff, but when I sat down the waitress/bartender finished up her conversations with the staff first and looked at me like I was disturbing her. I ordered their "House" mixed drink and it came out of a big jar that look like it been there for days. I ordered 3 sliders, dearborn sausage one, a grilled chicken and buffalo grilled chicken. The sausage one was great, the two chicken sliders were horrible, I was so sick. I paid and left. Did I ask to speak to a manager really what for? The bartender was already so unfriendly I didn't want to cause a stir.

The atmosphere was fun and the drinks were great. It was our first time visiting and we had higher expectations. A few of our burgers were cold, and the others were served just warm...nothing was hot except the fries. Our server was quite ruse as well, and not very helpful in explaining how the ordering worked. We waited about 45 minutes for our last round of burgers and there were empty tables all around us. I might go back, but I probably wouldn't recommend this place to a friend.

We went there on a Saturday. The place was crowded but we were able to find a seat quickly. We did not have any drinks but it still took 15 minutes to get our water. We ordered some soup some sliders and some fries. The fries came out in about 15 minutes. The next Burger and soup came out about 10 minutes later. The last Burger came out about 5 minutes after that. We were informed that the ordering is a la carte and it doesn't always come out together. The cheeseburger was good. The Philly cheese steak had enough salt on it to take care of most snow in the winter time. I told him that the Philly steak was terrible. Nothing was done about it. So if you have an hour and a half in the afternoon to use for lunch you may consider this for okay food.

I've been wanting to go here since I saw Chef Michael Symon here to eat. Our wait person was in outer space somewhere, which I may attribute to my disappointing visit. She screwed up our drink order and then never came back to see if we wanted any more drinks after our food arrived. She did come back for our food order shortly after we ordered our beer, but then...gone. Our food was brought out to the 3 of us piecemeal and was barely warm, including the "Hot Bacon" where shoe leather would have been more tender than the chicken. My gyro was good and the poutine was tasty but it would have been better hot. We had to chase her down for the bill. Sad to say I don't know if I will ever be back.

Having been recommended by a number of people I thought it should be a great place to go.
When we arrived there were no tables, understandable, it is a popular place and it is covid times.
So we ordered drinks and our food for take out (left a generous tip) then, when a table became available we sat down and would have spent the whole evening eating and drinking.
The manager told us seats were for paying customers only and we had to leave (he was very rude, after the nice friendly waitress and tried to help us with getting a table)
By the time we got our food there were at least 5 tables available and we were still not allowed to sit to eat.
The sliders were then soggy and the fries were hard and cold.
The ribeye slider was mashed beef and not a ribeye steak!
I would not return!

We stopped in before a concert hoping to grab a few cheap eats and drinks. The wait for food was over 1 hour, so we ordered drinks and headed to the patio. There were several drinks under $4, which is a great deal compared to local downtown bars. We drank and were on our way. Maybe next time we can try the food.

I recently went to Green Dot Stables with my husband and daughter using a gift card from my daughter. There are many choices of sliders, several appetizers and soups and very reasonable food and drink prices. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was very pleasant. The paprikash soup and clam chowder were very good. We had a s'mores dessert slider made with nutella and it was yummy!

After 4 attempts to get in without a wait, we had lunch there. The cucumber salad was good, the clam chowder was too thick for me, you could stand your spoon up in it. The sliders were creative, super small, the buns were slightly stale, probably from sitting out all day. We had 8 different sliders, just OK for me with the stale buns. Super fresh, soft buns would’ve made a big difference. Service was great. Probably not in a big hurry to go back. But still Fun & Different.

Love this place! Great selection of sliders. Best Mac and cheese around. Super cheap. Everything always perfectly cooked. Only thing that could be improved is the pop. Off brand and never tastes good. Fun to go with a group and share the sides or to keep them all to yourself. It’s the kind of restaurant never get tired of visiting and one we consistently visit.

It was a delicious lunch! The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. It was our first time going, Bobby was our server and was great in explaining and suggesting items!
We each had a cup of the clam chowder- it was fantastic!!
We shared the macaroni and cheese that we added bacon to.
I had the cheeseburger slider (added bacon) and the Cuban! My husband had the Coney dog and the Fried Polish.
We each had fries- mine were regular and he got the Venison Chili Fries.
It was all amazingly delicious! Thank you for a wonderful lunch experience!!

I was surprised when I entered and was surprised when I stayed!
Super traditional American pub, nothing touristy, but real… brings an interesting experience!
Order a round of mini burgers and fries, seriously, it’s surreal!!

A little ways from the downtown corridor, but it's worth the drive over. Lots of slider choices, Almond duck is awesome, all the regular meats are good. Clam chowder is great. I'ts sort of nice that it's away from all the traffic and hustle and bustle, don't have to look for parking.
Good lunch spot. Good bar.
