My sister and I took my dad here for Father's day and we had the absolute best time. The waiter Alan was amazing. I would definitely request him to anyone who enjoys a personable, fun and energetic experience. Now...the food was beyond amazing. My family...orders different sides so we can all try everything. The lobster bisque and French onion soup are absolutely delicious. The grilled wedge salad is awesome. We all got the Chicago cut rib eye and omg the flavor with the wood fired char is absolutely perfect. The desserts are just as amazing.More

We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Everyone was super friendly. Our waiter was excellent. We had a 5:00 reservation and had the place to ourselves until 6:00, when another family came in. I guess that's the benefit of eating early. Although, I'm sure...once things are fully opened up, the restaurant won't normally be so empty. You can tell the chef takes great pride in his food. Everything was delicious. The one thing that stood out, above everything else was the lobster bisque soup. I'm not a lobster eater, or any type of seafood, for that matter. I'll order clam chowder once in awhile. However, our waiter suggested the lobster bisque and it sounded good, so I figured I'd try it. It was outstanding. I would go back, just for that soup. Is the Caucus Club pricey? Yes. Would I spend that type of money on a meal regularly? No. But we were celebrating our anniversary and felt like going somewhere special. The money spent was worth it.More

As a party of six people we all agree, we like this restaurant. Nice and fast service. Good selection of dry aged steaks and fish dishes. Large selection of different wines.

The food incredible, roasted wedge salad, filet/strip medium rare, carrots/parsnips, asparagus and French fries ( to die for), and the best tiramisu anywhere, fabulous service, all brought to you by friendly attentive wait staff, and the best pianist anywhere, and every one else is having...the same experience, I can't wait to go backMore

First off we arrived 45 min early to our reservation and was let in and sat early which I though was great. Chris our server was fantastic. Very attentive and kind. Our drinks were a little above average, but the price was steep. Dinner was...average. I had the fillet, and my lady had the scallops. There is no sides served with the plate, that’s all a separate cost. And it’s all rather pricy. The atmosphere was rather Blah, and we were seated rather close to the 4 other groups in the restaurant. Which I found was quite annoying, considering it was quite slow. All in all I wasn’t very impressed. Overpriced for the experience your hoping to walk away with. Hopefully you have better luck. 6 out of 10.More

This was our 3rd visit to Caucus Club and, as before, came away impressed. My wife started with the wood fire wedge while I chose crab cakes, which appreciate the blend of ingredients vs lump style. Our entrees included a filet and a bone-in ribeye...with a side of king crab. These dishes came right off the grill and were outstanding. Sides included tasty brussels sprouts and creamed corn. The twice-baked potatoes had a garlic flavor that didn’t match my palate. Great piano entertainment added to the experience. Proper table spacing was appreciated. Even the warm bread exceeded expectations.More

An elegant restaurant offering quality food and service. Reservations highly recommended. Business to semi formal dress encouraged. Steaks were high priced but our salad, soups, sides & desserts all worthy of the price. A la cart menu.Excellent service.

My wife and I were passing through Detroit a month ago and had a truly outstanding dinner at the Caucus Club. I've been meaning to write this review since then -- it would be easy to let this task slide away, but that would be...unfair to the Caucus Room who provided such an excellent meal. Indeed, I was impressed with every element of the evening from the service, to the cocktails, the appetizers, the meal and the music. I started with telephone reservations and found myself speaking with the owner. We chatted a bit as he told me of the COVID-protective table spacing arrangement he had in place and then just about his experience maintaining the restaurant during this turbulent time. The silver lining, he said, is that the kindness in people has been more present than ever. Now to the meal: we were perfectly seated to enjoy the truly fine jazz pianist whose name I apologize for not remembering, as he was so very good. The service staff were remarkable - polite, helpful with informative recommendations, present but not hovering, and even laughed at a joke I made even though I'm sure it was not first time that joke has been heard! We started with oysters on the half shell which turned out to be Pink Moon - just marvelous (look them up!). I had a Martini and my wife had an Old Fashioned -- both can be standard drinks, but we both found the mixologist prepared a perfect cocktail. Then I enjoyed the Butcher's Cut, while my wife had the lake perch -- and both were prepared to perfection. Usually you wonder if a steak place will do well with seafood, and perch itself can be so plain, but both the Butcher's Cut and the perch were equally impressively prepared (we've been preparing perch at home since that evening, but have not been able to recreate what we had at the Caucus Room). I'm not one who writes many reviews, but I think this was one of the best if not the best meals I've had because every element deserved high marks, and that's not something one finds every day. My best wishes to George and I will be back if and when I'm passing through Detroit again.More
