Our third anniversary was spent celebrating at Roast. I ordered s deliciously rich and tasty mushroom soup that was full of taste with a blue cheese and bacon, really complimentary rich taste. The salmon dish was very delicious, and my husband ordered the NY strip which he thought was delicious with a charred outside and of course Detroit zip sauce.... More

My wife and I made a special effort to have our mutual birthday dinner at one of Michael Symons restaurants including staying in the downtown Detroit Westin where the Roast is located. Nobody reads more than two paragraphs about something like this, so here is the short version. The food was from extraordinary to merely very good until dessert, service... More

My Friends took me here as one of my stops on my 50th Birthday! Atmosphere and ambiance was GREAT! We did not eat here, so i cannot comment on the food. The Restaurant was packed which is usually a good sign! The Drinks were great and bartenders attentive! I felt the drinks were priced reasonably. I thought it was going... More

Tried twice while in Detroit. The smoked pork chop was recommended by our server. YES, you should also try. nice wine list, great service, lots of menu choices, a California style grill over the fire in an open display kitchen. We tried the happy hour the next evening before the Tigers game. Nice drink specials as you would expect, but... More

Selected an elite dining experience to celebrate our anniversary. I really enjoyed Roast's version of an Old Fashioned - very flavorful. Our foursome all enjoyed these entrees: filet, roasted chicken, salmon (a small portion) & their famous pork chops. We loved the creamed spinach with feta au gratin & the mushrooms. Both the honey churro w honey ice cream &... More

As soon as we walked in and were seated, not only was the atmosphere wonderful, so was the aroma - (smoked food). 2 ordered steak - strip and filet with crab béarnaise, (both cooked to perfection, juicy and tender), 1 ordered roast beast which is actually pork, and the other salmon, all delicious. Everything is ala carte. The wait staff... More

This is a good place to come if you like beef. The cuts of beef, I had rib eye, are tender and flavorful. The sides are also creatively different from the usual boiled vegetables you get at most restaurants. I especially liked the brussel sprouts. In my opinion, this restaurant is expensive. I would only come here for s speacial... More
