This Restaurant is inside the Westin hotel. It is very cute inside and we got a booth that is secluded. The food is really good. Hubby and I both had steak side of brussel sprouts and rosemary fries.

The drinks were good, especially the Martini's. They even have olives unlike Selden Standard, that's another story. The Ceviche was very good, the Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad was pretty good too. My wife had the Beef Shortrib and it was ok but, the Smoked Pork Chop was good. Creamed Corn was very good, Brussels were just ok. For dessert... More

Had the Beef short rib and broccoli Rabe. Broccoli Rabe was tough and I could barely cut it. It was seasoned in goat cheese and pine nuts. Why does everything slightly healthy have to be smothered in butter and cheese!? So I was able to eat the leafy part. The short rib was lovely and tender. The Service was good... More

My wife and I decided to go to Roast for our birthday celebrations which happen to be within a few days of each other. Roast was our choice based on past reviews and Chef Symon's name on the door. This was a big mistake. The service was OK and the ambiance was nice. The food was horrible! My wife ordered... More

The food at Roast is AWESOME! If you are in the mood for a happy hour spot in downtown Detroit this is a must. The Bar Menu isn't the same at the table menu. For example the Roast burger is to die for. It's served on an English muffin topped with a fried egg, cheese, and bacon. Best burger EVER!... More

We were excited to be visiting Cleveland on this trip and made reservations at Lola's but we were in Detroit 1st and decided to check out Roast. It was even better than expected and we actually liked it better than Lola's. I had short ribs and my son ordered the Gnocchi with vegetables. He never eats veggies but the dish... More

Our third anniversary was spent celebrating at Roast. I ordered s deliciously rich and tasty mushroom soup that was full of taste with a blue cheese and bacon, really complimentary rich taste. The salmon dish was very delicious, and my husband ordered the NY strip which he thought was delicious with a charred outside and of course Detroit zip sauce.... More

My wife and I made a special effort to have our mutual birthday dinner at one of Michael Symons restaurants including staying in the downtown Detroit Westin where the Roast is located. Nobody reads more than two paragraphs about something like this, so here is the short version. The food was from extraordinary to merely very good until dessert, service... More

My Friends took me here as one of my stops on my 50th Birthday! Atmosphere and ambiance was GREAT! We did not eat here, so i cannot comment on the food. The Restaurant was packed which is usually a good sign! The Drinks were great and bartenders attentive! I felt the drinks were priced reasonably. I thought it was going... More
