Got two different menus at our table.Ordered “shredded beef” burrito but inside had mushy rice, refried beans & about 1 gram of beef. Lady ordered sopas had no cheese sauce and about 1.25 gr of beef. I suggest you come here to drink instead—you’ll need...it!More

Got a carry out lunch last week , absolutly the worst Mexican food I have ever had . Taco lunch was dried out , Enchilada lunch was worst than a frozen dinner and the botana was a mess . Charged us $22 for this lousy...meal .More

Both my wife and daughter are big cochinita pibil fans, and that's not an easy dish to find in Detroit. We finally had a chance to try Senor Lopez take-out, so I just swung by and ordered three cochinita pibil dinners. The dinners smelled awesome...in the car, and they were just so insanely good. Juicy, flavorful, pibil, corn tortillas, beans, rice, sauce. Amazing, and the best thing I've eaten all year at least. I can't vouch for any of the other dishes, but if the're even close the the pibil they're going to be winners. We're definitely going back soon for an actual sit-down meal. I grabbed a menu, and I see some other things I'd like to try. Senor Lopez also has a small bar and cold beer, as well as a variety of Mexican non-alcoholic drinks.More

My brother and I tried this restaurant today,{ Cinco De Mayo}. This is a small authentic Mexican Restaurant, but we were surprised it was only half full on a normally busy holiday. The waitress was super. Parking can be had in a large lot on...the East side of the restaurant. I had 3 tacos and a side order of refried beans. My brother in law had a botana with no meat. He said he loved his food. I had two carne asada tacos and one steak. The carne asada tacos were moist and tasty. The steak taco was dry and just ok.We were surprised that the complimentary chips were in a small basket. This is about 30% the size of the chips in most Mexican restaurants in this area. They were just average in taste. They came with two small mugs of salsa which was bland, but I am sure they have other spicer salsas, which we should have asked for.More

This was our second visit in as many months and it has become our favorite Mexican restaurant The food is incredibly tasty and it’s obviously fresh , service is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. It is a small ,seemingly ,family run place. does...not have a lot of frills, but more than makes up for that with the quality of the food and the service. I would highly recommend giving them a tryMore

Stopped in with my son before a basketball game at Universal Academy for dinner. Easiest review ever: GOOD FOOD! The chips were fresh and came with both mild and spicy salsa. The server was very friendly and had excellent suggestions from the menu. The food...is very reasonably priced (dinner for the two of us with a couple drinks was under $30) and was very well prepared. I especially enjoyed the queso flameado with chorizo - a fantastic cheese appetizer. Add that there is ample parking in the lot next door and this is the place to go for any meal of the day!More

We moved up from the border recently and keep trying Mexican places in the area. We found Senor Lopez to be a great deal. The lunch special one of us ordered was 2 tacos, rice and beans for $3.25. The other ordered the papas con...huevo breakfast for $3.50. The food was good. And the value was amazing. Chips and salsa are included, as was a chicken taco for each of us to try as a complimentary appetizer. We will definitely be back! Give it a try!More

I'm so thankful for this place! The food is great, and it's not super expensive. Sometimes it takes a little while for larger groups of 10 or more.

The boss took us out to lunch for an "authentic" Mexican lunch. Senor Lopez Taquieria is a small place, less than 15 tables, in a struggling neighborhood in Detroit. I found the chips & salsa to be sub-par, with chips that tasted like they came...out of a big restaurant supply bag & 2 salsas that were too thin to stay on the chips. I ordered flautas, my usual, & they weren't bad, but not close to being the best I have ever had. My coworkers enjoyed their taco lunch plates & they looked good. The prices were crazy cheap, but overall I thought the food was just average.More
