Funky, eclectic restaurant at the end of the world. Very interesting and worth the trip just to go in and admire the architecture. Polish dishes are the specialty and the sampler platter is very good.

We met a couple of friends here for Sunday dinner. Had traditional Polish Stew, pirogies, whitefish, and a custom made salad. Great tasting food, excellent waiter, an awesome view of Lake Michigan, and colorful, scenic drives there and back. We had to wait about 30 minutes or a table, but it was a beautiful day and lots of people out... More

Stopped at Legs Inn while on a tour of the Tunnel of Trees. It was a sunny, Sunday afternoon and the place was packed. They have an excellent system for registering and waiting. The bar was open and the outside patio viewing Lake Michigan was a very pleasant place to wait. When called we were seated in a window seat... More

Get a beer and see the view and go. The sausage is good the golupki awful and perogie also not good I make better and I am Irish. Very bland food and stays in your stomach over 24 hours. Not worth the hour wait.

We always have the perogies, but this time also had the breaded pork cutlet. It was huge!!! (and so good). We avoided a 1 hour wait by sitting at the bar to eat... a bit tenuous with the gap between the bar and rail, but a great solution for hungry diners... but you can't do this when the patio is... First, the restaurant is located at the northern end of the tunnel of trees, a great location to stop and get a good meal following your tunnel trip! Second, the food and the service are exceptional. This was my first visit and I had no idea what to order, KRISTY our waitress was so sweet and helpful, even though they... More

We got there shortly after opening and the place already had a 30 min wait...it was a beautiful fall day and we didn't mind...it was worth it! We ordered the potato pancakes and pierogis w/potato and cheese...SO YUMMY! We asked our server to recommend a good polish beer and that was excellent too...great service and atmosphere...highly recommend!!

We visited on the 2nd to last week of the restaurant closing for the season. The wait was long but so worth it. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with odd shaped wood. After signing in for a table we received a pager, grabbed a drink at the bar and walked thru their beautiful gardens and their gift shop. The view... More

Stopped here yesterday after a color tour. The food and atmosphere are both unique. Be prepared for a 1-2 hour wait during the normal eating time's. The colors right now are probably 2 weeks from peak in this area. Service and food were both good as was the bloody Mary.

Description
*** LEGS INN IS OPEN THROUGH SUNDAY OCTOBER 16, 2016 *** Located in historic Cross Village, Michigan, Legs Inn is a "monument to nature." Built on a high bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, it is unique and mysterious as seen in its architecture and decor. The fantasy-like atmosphere of this medieval looking stone, timber and driftwood landmark was created by one man, Polish immigrant, Stanley Smolak. He fell in love with Northern Michigan and its people, many of them Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and decided to settle in Cross Village in 1921.A blend of Old World European and Indian cultures creates a memorable atmosphere. The entry foyer, tavern, game and dining rooms are all filled with an intriguing collection of nature and hand carved furniture -- whimsical creations made of tree stumps, twisted limbs and roots, driftwood sculptures and massive fieldstone fireplaces.Authentic Polish cuisine is our specialty, but delicious American dishes, including local fresh Whitefish, are also served. The Smolak family and staff are dedicated to making your visit to Legs Inn an unforgettable experience, which will have you returning often with family and friends throughout the years.Throughout the decades Legs Inn has become a famous family destination and restaurant. It has been acknowledged and praised by major magazines, TV broadcasters, newspapers, travel-related web sites, tour guides and guests from across the country and around the world. We look forward to your visit.
