After enjoying excellent take out from Amore at least once a week for a few months, we learned to our delight that Jenna (the owner) had opened up the restaurant again. With our friends we had a lovely evening on the outside patio. The hostess...& waitress were superb, the drinks just right & the ambience with soft music super enjoyable. Jenna came by several times to greet the customers personally. As always, the salads were splendid, the mahi with saffron sauce & spiced zucchini were delicious, the rabbit was good & the tiramisu heavenly. Sorry to say it, but avoid the amatriciana — a pile of spaghetti marinara without meat sauce. Couldn’t find the pancetta it was supposed to contain.More

We grabbed takeout from here tonight during the pandemic. This place is amazing. Worth the 25 minute drive. Extremely reasonable prices and great sized portions. Probably some of the most flavorful food we have had in a while. This is a new favorite.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I have ate there MANY times and have used them for catering a graduation party. I can't say enough good things about this place. While I LOVE the entire menu, my favorite is the aranccini. I...love everything about this place. I always look forward to the next meal there. They also have an amazing outside patio!! That is pretty rare in Grand Rapids, and SO much appreciated with our limited warm weather. Chef Jenna is amazing. Not only as a chef but her community involvement. She has won numerous awards for so many things. I can't even begin to name them all. I will end this unorganized review, because I could go no for hours. I won't.More

Omg it has been a while since I have been at Amore and this local gem never disappoints! So authentic and different Mediterranean and Italian food than you will find at some ahem....chain restaurants....no salad and breadsticks here - just authentic home cooked Italian like...grandma used to make! I have eaten here several times but never ordered the lasagna...well look at this mountain of meat and pasta. THIRTEEN LAYERS OF PASTA MEAT CHEESE AND SAUCE!! 13 layers the waitress told me...yeah it’s bigger actually than it looks! The Arancini is a local favorite too...another homemade dish I have been told! I did not taste my daughters pizza but she looked full...I had those 13 layers of lasagna to deal with...need I say more. Not many places do the nice touches anymore...but AMORE DRIPS IN CLASS. A bread basket with olive dipping oil and an after dinner shot for adults and a taste of dessert are usual extras that get added in.More

I went there as part of a large group for Valentine's Day so we had a family style dinner. The manicotti was excellent and my favorite dish by far. You can tell that the pasta is made from scratch, melts in your mouth. The veggie...lasagna was also great. The salads were just okay, could use some flavorful ingredients. I did not like the potatoes at all, they had an odd almost chemical like taste. The chicken marsala could have been really good but was overcooked, so pretty dry. I was delighted by the vodka meatballs, tender with a fabulous gravy-like sauce. The zucchini was seasoned well but I was too full to eat much of it. I'm not a fan of mushrooms in general but the stuffed mushrooms looked so good, I had to try them. The sausage stuffing was incredibly flavorful. I didn't like the mushroom because of the texture but was in no way because of the preparation, it was my dislike of mushrooms. We also had cheese stuffed fried fritters which were crisp on the outside, warm and gooey inside. Now for dessert, wow! Beautifully presented, decadently rich and delicious! I also tried their drink special - a creme brulee martini with a sugar candy on top complete with glitter! An absolute piece of art! I appreciated that the owner (who looks like a super cool woman) was so engaged with her patrons. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a family feel. There are many photos of the owner with various diners, some of which are celebrities. The front room has live piano music. It was overall a lovely dinner.More

Walking into Amore is like walking back in time. I wouldn't have been surprised to see Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin sitting at a table! The atmosphere was relaxed and yet there was a lot going on. Chef Jenna walks the dining room talking to...her guests. There is plenty of waitstaff and they are eager to please and know the menu well! Our server Caitlyn had some wonderful recommendations. We were there celebrating, my husband had the del monico steak and I had the risotto with lobster. The steak you could have cut with a butter knife ad my 2 tails of lobster was melt in your mouth deliciousness! The desserts look wonderful, however neither of us had room. But we did not pass on their house-made Limoncello or Cioccolacello and make sure you don't either! Both are the perfect after dinner drink. Make sure you make reservations, Amore is busy all the time!More

From the moment you walk in the hospitality experience begins! Check to see if you are celebrating anything special. The wait staff is attentive & knowledgeable of the food offerings. We enjoyed the 5-course tasting meal that was out of the world. Flavors pop with...each bite. Portion sizes were just right. Thank you for a great experience!More

While we’ve eaten in the restaurant and the food has been amazing.... I ordered a pan of Chicken Alfredo and Lasagna for a Christmas party. The Alfredo was wonderful, however the Lasagna after following the cooking instructions to a tee, turned out mushy! 😢 This...was so embarrassing and most of it went down the drain!!More

I was looking for a special date spot for my wife. Great food, quiet atmosphere, and not rushed. Amore Trattoria Italiana was recommended. The experience, food, atmosphere were perfect. She had the Amatriciano and I had the Fiorentina and we both had delicious salads and...of course wine. Will be backMore

Amore is a place we go about half a dozen times a year. The meals are reasonably price and the food is always good. The service is a bit spotty, depending on the server. They have a great house wine and main dishes that can...be shared. It has a warm and friendly atmosphereMore

That would be Jenna and Maurizio Archidiacono. As far as I know, they are not hillbillies at all. In my experience they have been exceptionally attentive hosts and chefs and have excellent palates for both food and wine... More
