We brought our grandkids in for donuts & drinks, after they were so patient waiting for us at Jays sporting goods. We all liked the donuts. Fun place to stop & of corse it's great to support police.

The baked goods are genuinely amazing! I also recommend popping into the diner for a plate of fresh-baked biscuits with homemade sausage gravy. I have been coming here for over a year now and have never found a single item that isn't the best version of that item I've ever had!

Decadent is a great word to describe everything showcased at this bakery. Our personal favorites are their cookies, long johns, and bacon squealers. Delicious and reasonably priced. The only negative thing I could say is that the "gimic" of the place is getting bigger than the food itself. There are now more t-shirt options than baked good options. So I... More

Watch out if you go to Cops with public radio two-for-one coupons. Cops has agreed that the customer can buy any bakery item, get a similar product free. We had a hard time getting them to honor the coupon and the staff was obviously unfamiliar with the program. Ignorance was covered up by rude behavior for more than one counter... More

Arrived around lunch time in Clare . Stopped at cops, what a place. Did not have lunch, line was long for donuts. I had a long john and it was loaded with cream and very good. Will make a trip back for Fat Tuesday.

These are great doughnuts. The service what great too. I love the cop theme and decor. I just wish they would label the doughnuts in the case so we know what to ask for or what the are. I found the cop themed merchandise amusing.

This bakery was for sale, the last in town, and members of the police force incorporated and bought it and have operated for some years. It has become an expanding enterprise with "precincts" in nearby towns. This is headquarters! It is busy but service is quick. There are seating areas and most people will share a table if asked. The... More

Since policemen having been patrolling our streets, everyone has said that their favorite food is DONUTS!. So, the most obvious conclusion is that a retired cop would open a donut shop. Well, that has happened in Clare, in the heart of the Mitten! Originally started by and still wholly owned by policemen, they took over the former Clare Bakery in... More

If you're going through Clare, you can't miss Cops & Doughnuts. We stopped to get some treats for the ride. Nothing beats a hometown bakery. So fresh and good, a must!

There is a doughnut shop and bakery in Clare, Michigan that has been in constant operation since 1896. This foundation business was within weeks of closing when the members of the Clare Police Department came to the rescue. All of them. That's right, all nine members of the local police department banded together to save this historic business.Dubbed "Cops and Doughnuts," the business boasts handmade confections of all types. Join us for a warm fresh doughnut and a steaming cup of Cops Coffee while you enjoy the police decor and friendly, and very safe, atmosphere. Come and see the new store in Clare that everyone is talking about.Since opening as Cops & Doughnuts our business has expanded in to other adjoining store fronts allowing us to ad the "Cop Shop" our apparel and souvenir shop. And the "Traffic Stop Diner" featuring many American Diner favorites.
