This place has a great view, outside dining, inside dining and a bar area.
Service was slow and the food was mostly just okay. Except the club sandwich. It was really good with flavorful ham stacked on toasted sourdough bread. Really good.
We also ordered appetizers, patty melt and beer. My husband had one of the dark beers (don’t remember the name) and he said it was very good. The patty melt was disappointing as there was a small patty with two large slices of bread. The potato skins were soft. The onion rings were batter fried and very good.
But the atmosphere is nice, the view is beautiful and the company was great.

Have always wanted to try this place and so glad we did. Lots of seating. View of the lake. Nice decor. Very friendly service. Had a delicious olive burger, it was tall! Fries were good. The lasagna was good and so was the cod dinner. The mushroom bisque was absolutely wonderful. It was homemade with big chunks of mushroom. Wish I could have had more!!!! We’re going back.

The view of the lake from the deck at the restaurant was beautiful. We dined indoors because it was a very cool day. Our server was excellent. The food was only fair. I had the fish fry special, and the fish arrived arrived cold. I guess my fries came from the bottom of the fryer. They were greasy and many of them were tiny bits. The others in our group said their meals were only fair. Another problem was the flies. We battled them the entire time we were there.

I asked my son to pick a restaurant out for dinner after a round of golf in Gaylord. I was given directions that seemed to be really random and led us off the normal path. We finally arrived at a destination in the middle of what seemed to be nowhere on the shores of Black Lake. I was doubting his choice until I tasted the food. Pork Rinds with a cheesy sauce burgers with potato and bacon, the surf and turf, really tasty. Completely satisfied with the dining experience. Well done.

This was my first visit and I'll be back. There's a wide variety of food to please just about any palate. Our server, Kyle, was friendly and very accommodating. There is a large selection of beer,wine and specialty cocktails to choose from. The view of Black Lake is beautiful. Daily specials are offered as well as 1/2 off appetizers during happy hour.

We drove back in, where the signs are, and building looks like it's being remodeled, closed, and the campgrounds were vacant.

This place has very good food at a decent price. Their smoked meats are fantastic, the wings are awesome and the bar cheese with fried pita is great. The atmosphere is typical up north, cabin type restaurant with a nice deck overlooking the woods and lake. They are right off the snowmobile and atv trails and there is a nice rustic campground on the property. They even have gas for your atv/sled. And they make a heck of a Long Island, none of that premix crap.

There was not much change on this visit but a little things like a deck coming from the back deck dinning area thing to the parking lot. The waitress said they fixed the water problem unfortunately that didn't work . It still as bad as ever to me. We came to have dinner all 11 of us. The waitress handled it very well and food didn't change . We had a good time enjoyed our meal by all. We came here because there was no band. The last owners had a band on Sundays and thier expertise in music was "make it loud" and they did that for sure. It was our place to go when the band was outside not inside. The problem I had was the busboy started clearing the table before everybody was done. He would pick up as much as he could carry with his hand. I would suggest that manegment buy a tub so that he can clear more than 3 wine glasses and a empty bottle. And do it AFTER the party has left not during the last of the drinks being consumed. All and all we had a great time and maybe I'm a little cridical but we eat out almost most of the time in our travels we know what good . Look at our number here on Trip Advisor.

Stopped here riding sleds from Indian River to Black Lake area. Place was full and we had to wait a bit for a seat but not long. We ordered the chill which was very good. The onion rings were awesome! They have gas if you need to fill up your sled. Staff was nice but seemed a little overwhelmed by the crowd. We would definitely go back.

My friend and I had planned to go to Boyne City but at the last minute she had a new idea and off we headed Northeast ending up at Ocqueoc Falls near Onaway to hike and check out the colors.
When we were leaving it was my turn for a spontaneous thought and we headed to The Bluffs. What a gem, located at the end of a gravel road in a campground nestled on the bluff overlooking Black Lake.
We sat at the bar and found a great selection of beer and the menu was very eclectic. Not what you would normally find in an out of the way place. The bartender was very pleasant and helpful, the food great, and the beer was cold. Good prices for the quality of everything plus the beautiful view to boot.
One last note, the restroom toilets are rather low so we asked the bartender if they had booster seats and she laughed and said they were the right height for her since she was barely 5 foot tall! So you have been warned it is a long way down. Fun place, fun people and you won't be disappointed.

So happy daughter and son in law took us here for dinner! We sat outside looking over black lake at dusk. We all ordered different food, and everyone’s was excellent! Our server was friendly and great. I would go back tomorrow!

Visited the week of the July 4th with 2 families. The place was very busy, but way understaffed, our meal took 2.5 hours. The brisket sandwich was kind of dry and small for $14, I asked for the works (including cheese and cole slaw on top) of the sandwich and it was delivered plain without even sauce on it. One of our fellow diners ordered a beer and was served something other than what she ordered. People at the table across from us left after an hour because it was taking way too long to get drind refills and an appetizer. The only saving grace was that the perch and onion rings were very good.
