We had a very poor dinner at the Landing. We used to go there frequently, will not return unless they get back on track. Two of our group had the lamb burgers - extremely dry, overcooked, hard slab of meat. Three of us had the...fried perch - waaaay over-salted and tasted old, the batter was heavy - just a really bad dining experience. The wine list is extremely limited. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the service was attentive and friendly. The food is a no-go!!More

Hello, I'm sorry that you did not like your dinner! We would have loved to have you try something else, I'm sorry that your server did not offer that option.
My son recommended this restaurant and despite freezing outside for dinner, I would def come back. Our server, Benjamin, was fantastic and very attentive even though he was busy. All employees wore masks and they were diligent about cleaning tables.
Favs were the lobster roll...with a side of beach fries and the burger. I had high hopes for the wood fire grilled broccolini but they were a bit too charred for my liking.
Other than that, I would come back for lunch or on a warmer day via boat. Ambience is nice on the water and cool vibe. Expect a bit of a wait.More
We stayed in a VRBO house for a week in Charlevoix and only ate out once due to COVID. We picked The Landing for its out-of-town location and ability to order online or via phone. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and I got...the Asian Chicken salad. Both were awesome and ready for pick up at pur desired time. Wish we could have eaten there as the place was freshly updated with cheery paint colors and had a fun buzz as it's right on Lake Charlevoix. Boaters taking a break stop there regularly; it's been there for years and it's nice to see it refreshed and thriving. Great for a snack, drink or meal.More
The food here is overpriced, but I get it, this is northern Michigan, and the scenery is beautiful. Sitting out on the dock and eating is absolutely fabulous. My girlfriend and I ordered the roasted pork nachos and split them. They are large and more...than two people could easily make a meal off of these, but I was a little bit disappointed that there was no more pulled pork than there was. The service is great. Recommend you at least stop and have a drink and watch the boats go throughMore
It's a joke that the Landing is #7. It is BY FAR the best restaurant in Charlevoix if you take surroundings into account. It is directly on the water - the only restaurant within 30 miles that is. And the food has gotten so darn...good. We are New Yorkers and are very spoiled by good food the rest of the year. But we come to CVX (and we have for 6 generations, all summer long) we are always looking for a decent meal at a decent price. No sense paying high prices when we can eat better food at home. But the Landing's location can't be beat. And the food has gotten creative and consistently great. The lamb burger is sensational. The lobster salad with tarragon yummy. Everything is reliable now. (It used to be very mediocre 5 years ago. But the new owners know what they're doing.) Anyway, Terry's is nice with nice fancy seafood. Esperance is also good but overpriced and not even listed here for some reason. We just stick to the Landing and save our dollars for fancy food back in NYC. Nowhere else in CVX worth spending money on.More
Be prepared for a wait but the staff here is really nice. Hevan our waitress played along with our humor and she was quick and the food was very good. We had burgers, perch, lobster roll and asain bowl with crab cakes. Everything was delicious....I little expensive with fries al a cart but what do you expect. We ate on the dock which was a nice experience and the Manager checked in with us at the end of the meal.More

Unfortunately, we are not able to open in 2015. We never planned on missing a season, and and all the employees were also very bummed to not be open! Everyone really has a great time working here for the summer. Building on the water here has presented many challenges that we have fought to overcome, and things have taken much longer than planned. But we know that it will be worth the wait, the new space is amazing! We loved the old building and all it's character, but it was falling apart beyond repair, and wasn't serving us or our customers very well. Our goal is to build a building that will last for another 50 years and create a lot of great memories of its own! The menu and prices are staying the same, although we may add a few more items here and there. Please feel free to call me with any concerns or questions, thanks! 231-547-9036
