Updated historic building and great food

We had lunch here recently and it was a great choice. It is only about 2 miles away from the highway, so if you are going through the Cadillac area and looking for a good place to eat, go here. The food was very good, and our server, Kelly, provided excellent service. The prices are reasonable, and at this time they had a menu of $5 food items and drinks if you order before 5pm. We sat inside, but everyone wore masks and the seating was spaced out. I felt very safe, and they did have limited outside seating available.

Not many restaurants are open here in Cadillac during the quarantine, but Clam Lake Brewery has been. They have a great menu, great food and super curbside service! Our meals have been well prepared, and curbside service has been brought to us by employees with gloves and masks. Again, thank you for staying open for us and we will return when you can reopen completely!

Excellent Meal & Service! Merci!

We Had A Great Lunch at Clam Lake Beer Company! Our server was excellent! Smooth! Efficient! Our food was fabulous! Tasty! Delicious! My wife loved her Asian Chop Salad. I agree! It was pretty awesome! I was very pleasantly surprised when my Cuban Panini Sandwich arrived. It was HUGE! Massive! Spectacular! You gotta love it when the meat is pouring out of the bread. So easy to love! As for the side of Mac & Cheese that I also ordered..... WOWZA! Nailed it! We also ordered off the “$5 Before 5 Happiness Hour” menu... my wife and I shared a Crab Cake that was served on top of Spinach. Well done! Well played! Scored! We look forward to our next meal at Clam Lake! It won’t be soon enough! Merci Beaucoup!

Stopped by on the spur of

Stopped by on the spur of the moment for an early lunch while passing through town. We wanted an outside table and were happy to get one. Employees were all wearing appropriate masks and were wearing them correctly and there was hand sanitizer on each table - excellent! Staff (greeter, waiter, and a manager) were all professional and pleasant. Service was spectacular - food arrived quickly and was exactly what we ordered. Water glasses were kept full and extra condiments were provided promptly upon request. The food was great! Pizza, black & bleu salad, buffalo wraps, and Brussel sprout appetizers were all delicious. No one left disappointed.

Valentines Dinner

We were passing through Cadillac, Michigan and stopped for Valentines Day Dinner at the Clam Lake Beer Company. The pub was extremely busy, as to be expected on a Friday night and Valentines to boot but the wait time, 72 minutes for our table, passed very enjoyably at the bar sampling the local brew selection and making new friends. The beer selection is extensive and the food is great pub fare with a twist.

One of best within 100 miles!!

The starving staff did their best to seat groups or solo’s as soon as possible. The wait staff was superb. While I was waiting normal times I noticed dishwasher doing an excellent job hustling and working so hard in background! Food is excellent!! I had Southwest Cobb Salad. Presentation was wonderful to look at and was excellent to taste. They even offered a pesto dressing that was top notch above the chipotle dressing, which was served on the side so you can dictate how much to use, Overall a 10!! Well done all.

Best meal I've had out in a long time!

Nice, varied menu. Our party of 6 had pizza, gf pizza, steak bowls, ahi bowl, Cobb salad, drinks & appetizers. Everything was delicious. Service was great. Food arrived very quickly and well prepared. Plan to spend $30 - 50 per person if you have drinks or appetizers with your meal. I have a lot of food allergies and I felt great after eating at Clam Lake Beer Co., even though no items were designated as gluten free except the pizza crust. I believe it was the best meal & service I have had at any restaurant since 2020.

Good food, good service, an excellent Cadillac option!

We stopped at this place on the way up to northern MI. It was a great stopping point. The server was able to deliver an appetizer right away because our 11 year old was starving and crashing quick. We ordered sandwiches and some salads, nothing fancy but executed very well. We didn’t order the beers, but had some Cocktails, which were well done. Bathroom was clean. We ate in the back room with the view of the lake which was nice. They did have baseball on TV which was great for our group. A nice walk in park on the lake ended our evening.

Saturday night dinner and beer

Rolled in around 8pm on a Saturday night. Restaurant was about 80% full. Great selection of beers, not just "in house" brews. Lots of local and not local choices. Had the perch rueben which was fantastic. Crispy perch seasoned perfectly to go with the coleslaw and boom boom sauce toppings. Very attentive wait staff. Very clean and modern. Not an "up north" bar if that's what you're looking for. I would also not recommend the clam lake cinnamon toast crunch beer. Heavy on the cinnamon without any sweetness to offset it. Just my preference. Ask for a taste before committing to one.

same old story, slow and expensive

Thought we try this again, off-season. Still the same poor service (the waiter reeked of cigarette smoke), bartender not friendly at all, and you WILL WAIT a long time because this place is so inefficient in all that they try to do. If they had some better managers to get staffing right we'd go back. The food is pretty good, but portions are quite smaller now since they opened. If you want to leave broke, hungry, and tired from waiting, here's your place! And one gross thing, the cook was tossing fries with his bare hands, my goodness!!!

Cadillac Delight - Dinner and Nostalgia

Just wanted a 3-day trip for a change of scenery. Stayed at Hampton Inn near downtown Cadillac. We had a delicious fish dinner with craft brewed beers at the CLAM LAKE BEER CO. Then walked a short way to sit by the beautiful lake. There is a paved trail around the lake where we met many nice people and dogs. There is a lovely city park with working fountain across the road. Felt like we were in a Norman Rockwell painting, complete with railroad tracks still in use. Wonderful town!

Terrific food, fun pub atmosphere, good service, reasonable prices

We were in the area for a concert and saw Clam Lake on TA so we went there for dinner. Quite busy even at 5pm but we got seats at the bar no problem. Big selection of beer (obviously) and great selections on menu. We started with the Calamari @14.99 and then each had an Ahi Tuna Bowl @ 19.49 which were outstanding! Great ingredients, so fresh and flavorful. Would make a point to return if we were anywhere in the area!

Excellent food!

We ate lunch here earlier this week and will definitely go back to enjoy more items on the menu! The pub-like ambiance was relaxed and comfortable. We started with a sampling of 5 five-ounce beers. The onion rings were clearly homemade and excellent! We also enjoyed the clam chowder. The pizza from the pizza oven was exceptionally delicious! Lastly, the cheeseburger with grilled onions was perfectly prepared. The menu was extensive and offered something for everyone!

Late Dinner

Our hike took a little longer than expected so we ended up arriving at the restaurant quite late. Wanting to eat light because of the time we ordered the edamame and Asian chopped salad. Both were the perfect amount of food. We'll be back in a few months for the second go around.

Downtown Hub for Good Reason

The restaurant was very busy, a good sign. We parked across the street. Our way was supposed to be 20 minutes, but more like 10 for a party of 2. The atmosphere was hopping. Restrooms could be busy so plan accordingly. An alternate space is downstairs. The truffle tots were tasty. How can you go wrong with tater tots - lots to please on the menu. We enjoyed the avocado salad with house pesto which was ranch & pesto I was told when asked as it was delicious. The three cheese mac n cheese was equally good. Our server was busy but available and spent time chatting. Will definitely return although a few more vegan/veggie options would sweeten the pot!
