If you are looking to break away from the boring breakfasts usually served at diners. Their breads are fresh and their choices are unique and (mostly) healthy. They also have wonderful lunch selections. And don't forget to take home something from the bakery or some of their delish coffee!

I love the food at the Blue Heron but recently experienced service that was less than expected. On a Saturday morning we waiting a long time for our food. Just when we were thinking we needed to flag someone down to ask about our breakfast, it was delivered. Unfortunately, my omelet was not hot. In fact, it wasn't even warm,... More

Best restaurant in town. Great menu, nice little cafe setting and gluten free and dairy options for those with food issues. Service was friendly and helpful with menu questions. Try if you're I the area, it won't disappoint.

My daughter and I visited for both breakfast and lunch recently. We were very impressed. The cafe also doubles as a bakery with a variety of delicious looking muffins, breads, donuts, and cookies. We bought a variety of cookies to sample and they were all very good. For breakfast I had the salmon cakes with eggs (I added ham and... More

Just had lunch here and it was fantastic. I had the lunch flight and my husband had the ham sandwich. Both our meals were hot, well presented, and absolutely delicious. I wish we were staying longer in the area so we could eat here again. The staff were all friendly and kind, even though we came in close to closing... More

We stopped here for lunch and were awed by the high quality and taste of the food. There isn't a large menu, but excellent choices. We both had the Lunch Flight special. This included a choice of soup (either tomato bisque or cream of asparagus- both excellent), an outstanding blackberry beet salad, and 1/2 of a California Reuben with turkey,... More

We ordered the Grilled Polenta Bowl and the Veggie Quesadillas for lunch. Very tasty, not expensive, nice staff. Freshly baked bread, cookies and muffins too! It's a small joint and we were able to seat ourselves. It was hopping on a Saturday morning. We would visit again.

We stopped for a late breakfast, but they stopped serving it by 11:30am. Picking from the lunch menu, we both were very very pleased with the flavor of the food. Next time we travel through town we will stop again!

Description
The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.
