Cute little restaurant and bakery in Cadillac, Mi. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. And it all came with sourdough bread. The bread was so good, I bought a loaf and brought it home.

This place has truly amazing baked goods! The donuts are amazing but my absolute favorite is their muffins! My husband works 3rd shift so I have him get one on his way home from work every so often. Definitely worth a try! You won't be disappointed!

Stopped based on Trip Advisor rating and reviews. Awesome menu, not a ton of choices, but excellent ones at that. BLT Frittata was simple awesome. Husband had the homemade rolled oats, another phenomenal choice. Priced right. Will be here again

We had breakfast here while traveling thru the area. I really liked the overnight oatmeal. The fresh bread that came with the eggs was delicious. The sevice was efficient and very friendly.

This charming cafe and bakery features locally grown products. The baked goods are sumptuous, huge donuts, a range of bread choices. The cafe menu for breakfast and lunch is wonderful. For men there is grits with brisket and eggs for breakfast. Who doesn't love roasted vegetables, fresh salads or grilled sourdough bread with homemade jam? A gem in downtown Cadillac!... More

We stopped at the Blue Heron yesterday to have lunch. The baked goods that meet you at the front of the restaurant look delicious but did not try as we were there for lunch. Seemed a bit expensive at $1.75 a piece. Got seated fast and had a chicken wrap. It was good; not a meal I would order again.... More

Description
The Blue Heron serves an excellent breakfast and lunch in large proportions; they are not open for dinner. Food is always fresh and unique. Daily lunches include a choice of 2 homemade soups w/complimentary homemade sourdough bread and a variety of sandwiches on homemade sourdough bread or wraps. Salads are always freshly made and filled with fruit, vegetables, and/or meat with tasty dressings. Two baker's display cases are filled each morning with fresh cookies, fried cakes, muffins, bagels, pies, cakes, and a large variety of sweet rolls, baked on site. Customers congregate there for coffee and a choice of doughnut or cookie. Their breakfasts are hearty and delicious. The owner is the cook, and it is a treat to find such a high quality restaurant in this small tourist town.
