I first came here a year ago when we moved to town. A nice family at my daughter's new school invited us for lunch. As a New Yorker, I was glad to have a deli nearby. But when the food came I was so sad. It was AWFUL. The salad was so old and wilted, it worried me because it... More

This restaurant has been a tradition in our family for many years. The prices are high, but the quality is good and always consistent. The Jewish deli options are true deli options - not imitations! My sons both like the bagel and lox options, I like the Matzoh Ball or Kreplach soup, and all of the sandwiches are delicious. My... More

I brought a friend for a late dinner (they're open until 8) and we closed the place. His cabbage soup was delicious, my deli salad was large and very good. I asked for all romaine and they up-charged me $2.69 for romaine versus mixed lettuce. This is the problem -- Steves is a rip-off. $3 pop. Extra charges galore. Their... More

I don't know how you can screw up eggs, toast, and coffee, but they certainly do. We will never go back to this establishment. It has been steadily going downhill, but it has reached the bottom now.

We visited for first time today. Had an excellent corned beef and pastrami sandwich with Swiss, coleslaw, and Russian dressing on onion roll. Sandwiches are truly overstuffed and of high quality, and served with great new pickles. In addition, our order of French fries were terrific, a large portion of shoestrings served hot and crispy. There are many great menu... More

My brother and I came for lunch. We didn't realize that a salad was $12 to start, and another $4 for some chicken with it...Brad had a tuna plate and I had a Greek salad. The waitress refilled our drinks and kindly brought me matzo instead of pita... $30 was kind of stiff for 2 non-meat lunches and an iced... More

I enjoyed my first visit to Steve’s and will definitely keep it in mind. They advertise “A little bit of New York right here in Bloomfield Hills,” and it’s true, but they brought the New York prices with them too. The ambiance was New-York-deli-terrific: lots of red, white, and stainless steel, Formica tables, service with personality, and excellent food. I... More

Walked in a bit before the lunch rush and watched the staff put out the hot dishes. Hot, fresh, homemade---and my mouth began to salivate. Sat down and was acknowledged right away by the wait staff. After perusing the menu we decided on something a bit traditional, sandwiches and hot soup. The daily soup special was split pea - a... More

The corned beef and pastrami are out of this world, Their stuffed cabbage - a fave of mine- is the best I've ever eaten. That said the food is not inexpensive and the restaurant's ambiance is nothing to write home about -- obviously that is not an issue if you are coming for take-out as I often do.

Talk about Jewish penicillin! Yes a quart is $14- but the best chicken noodle or matzo ball soup i have ever tasted. Even better than my mothers ( i hope she doesn't read this) Corned beef is good, little dry-- take out is busy and good. Hand sliced challah!
