Great local brewery with good food and ambience!!

Been here numerous times in the past few years, but it had been a while. Stopped in for beer and snacks as the start of a personal celebration. We were seated on the patio late afternoon. It took a few minutes before a waitperson stopped by our table to take our drink order. We enjoyed our Griffin Claw brews: Mr. Blue Sky for me; Octoberfest for him. For our snack, we chose the Mac & Cheese Bites which were yummy and enough to fill us up until dinner later. Enjoyable place to hang out with friends! Love GC's beers, and have often stopped in just to purchase our favorite directly from the source!

Good food, really good beer, nice ambience - always a good time at the Griffin Claw!

Two couples meeting up for dinner to catch up! We'd been here before; first time for our friends. Just a short wait for a table so we order beers at the bar. Seated at a picnic table, we used the QR code to access the menu. Across our party, we ordered the Claw Burger and Fries, Southwest Avocado Chicken Salad, Chili, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and Prime Rib Philly Dip. All delicious!! A couple flights of Griffin Claw beers were ordered; the Peach Don't Kill My Vibe was a hit (a growler was taken home!). My go-to Griffin Claw Mr Bluesky was as good as always. The new Actual Intelligence was not bad either! Our waitperson was attentive, allowing us time to talk and drink before ordering, checking on us once we were served, and making sure our glasses were full! Our friends enjoyed their time here, so will likely return. Just a note....the Griffin Claw is a popular local bar/restaurant so it can be pretty noisy inside. But don't let that deter you. It's always a good time at the Griffin Claw. Free parking lot, with some free on-street close by.

Great place for people who have Nut Allergies!!

My son and I came here last week to see if he could safely eat here as he has a severe Peanut allergy and Tree nut allergies as well. I asked the manager if it was safe for him to eat here and she said that they are a 100% Peanut and Tree Nut FREE environment. I couldn’t even believe this. This is truly a rare gem for those who suffer from food allergies. They are definitely a child friendly environment as we were there in the early afternoon and there were several children there. Delicious IPA’s and AMAZING Brownie a la mode dessert! Can’t wait to go back!!

The Best “Nightmare” I’ve Ever Had

In this world of $18 hamburgers and $7 beers, Griffin Claw did not disappoint. I was by myself, sitting outside, and service was friendly and attentive. Mr, Blue Sky Raspberry was excellent. I wish I’d bought some cans to go. Nightmare on Eton Street was the perfect burger to satisfy my love of spicy food.

I love this place and the fact that it is walking distance from my home doesn't hurt. I have one complaint: they don't offer a glass of beer smaller than a pint. A pint would put me to sleep at lunch. And, in the evening, I often pass on a second or third beer because I can't handle a pint.

Great Birmingham brewery

Fun brewery with outdoor patio. Plenty of IPA and cider options, great food and friendly service (thanks Isabella!). Great indoor seating as well as a hybrid area between outdoor patio. Offer flights of any of their drinks. Good merchandise booth as well.

Great beer, food and atmosphere!

Went here for dinner with son and family - kid friendly as well! Have a lovely patio but it was too hot so waited at the bar for a table (picnic tables mostly!) Enjoyed the beer and food and appreciated the service despite being a very busy place.

Good food, good service, not handicap friendly

Great atmosphere! Delicious food! Almost Every table is a Picnic Style so it is hard to get a handicap accessible table.

Flight and wings

I had a few free hours so I stopped in for a lunch and to see some of the Lions football game. This time it was the hot chicken wings and a flight of beer (Mr Blue Sky, El Rojo, Idiom and Vienna Lager). The Idiom was my favorite by far. As always it was quick service in a relaxed atmosphere.

My wife and I took the grandkids for lunch. We had a pretzel for an appetizer. The children had grill cheese sandwiches and we had wet burritos. The pretzel was outstanding.

Disappointing visit - won’t return

A decent size group of us met up here and I have to say the gentleman that was our waiter was one of the worst servers I’ve encountered. He was not friendly, seemed irritated any time we would ask for a drink or something, rushed to check us out because his shift was over, etc. We had almost 10 people there and you’d think a group of that size would warrant good service. I guess not. The appetizers we had were good, drinks were fine, but service was horrible. I won’t return based on the bad attitude of the server. Sorry. 😕

Griffin Claw is the town square of today

A wonderful, warm, inviting place to gather. And all generations gather here - you'll frequently see two or three generations enjoying the remarkable beer of Griffin Claw together. Food is excellent, but the beer is what really stands out. The tap menu changes frequently as master brewer Dan Rodgers brings his brewing creativity to the world. Outside seating in warm weather is fantastic. You'll love it.

Very Cool Eclectic Atmosphere

Excellent selection of beers and a wide variety of food to choose from. Very cool laid back atmosphere with a giant bar full and lots of comfy seating. Great outdoor patio (even if it does face I75) that is spacious and fun. They will also sell you a freshly canned beer of your choice to go. What more do you need?
