Tasty food, rather pricey

We've eaten here 3 times in past 2 summers during short stays on the island. Food always delish, and we've had excellent service all three visits. Seems overpriced, and we think they hiked the prices since last year, as many places have, trying to recover losses from 2020. But, you're on an island so I suppose value isn't always possible. Admittedly we did not try other locales on the island.

Great food and atmosphere.

Amazing food and the service was very fast and efficient. We noticed that every time we came into town there were lines waiting to get into the restaurant so we decided to eat there and we were not disappointed. We both got the white fish and chips. The fish was very flaky and the breading very crispy.

Needs a good cleaning

This place needs a good airing out and disinfecting. The air is stale. I know it’s a bar and all but it needs some cleaning. My server was great, but my husband’s beer on draft was flat and the bartender basically ignored my server as she was trying to get it taken care of. My cod was very good. They have a nice patio next to the bar.

We REALLY were looking forward to a good meal after we arrived on the island! The server obviously did NOT want to be there, despite our friendly interactions with her. Our dinner took forever to arrive and our ribeyes were hardly edible due to the amount of hard fat throughout the steak, not to mention the complete lack of flavor. The potato was even bland. I hardly ate 1/2 of my meal(I hadn’t eaten all day and it was 5:30pm). My sons pizza was ok. Our server was pretty much MIA the whole meal. But I gave her the benefit of the doubt figuring she must be having a bad day and tipped her $50+ on our $123 tab. I hope the tip brightened her day Atleast! ❤️ We will be trying other local cuisine for the remainder of our visit!

Below average food, TERRIBLE Service

My family has traveled extensively and regularly enjoys eating out. Our experience at the Shamrock was uniquely bad. To start, the server had no knowledge of what was on tap and was not willing to find out. The kitchen ran out of broccoli as a vegetable; fried onions arrived instead with no explanation by server or kitchen. Service slow even though place 3/4 empty. Both rib eye steaks we ordered were gristly and at least 60% fat. While waiting over an hour for our meal we left our table to play pool, during which time the server took away our unfinished drinks, and then refused to replace! We asked for a manager and were told none exists. This is by far the WORST restaurant we ate at on Beaver Island and the worst we can remember anywhere we have traveled. Go to Circle M instead, where the night before courteous, helpful staff served us much higher quality food that was more reasonably priced!

Shamrock Bar and Restaurant. Eat some place else unless your looking for a burger.

Our experience is based on two trips to the Shamrock. Our first dinner a Walleye fish sandwich, which the fish was so small it was lost in the bun, The bright side their bar burger was very good. Went back for pizza and salad night: I've had better frozen pizza.

Don't Ask for a Coffee Refill!

Bartender said I made her "feel crummy" when I asked about a coffee refill...obviously cannot handle more than six customers at the bar in an empty restaurant...when I apologized, she told me not to come back and I was kicked out of the bar, and ordered to leave the street. I quote: "I'm a trash-covered bartender that likes to work in trashy bars with trashy customers."

a drink and a pizza

We got to BI late in the afternoon and we wanted something to pick up and take back to our camp site. We stopped in and asked about a pizza. They put our order in, we sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple drinks while our pizza was being made. It all worked out the best way we could imagine.

Top notch bar food

Classic Beaver Island spot frequented by locals and visitors. Good menu and food is cooked fresh. Try the blackened whitefish Reuben...it’s a very unique dish and is excellent. Our server was great and on the ball. She even got “to go” cups for our kids’ drinks. Don’t leave the Island without at least having a beer here.

Good Bar Food!

This year was our first time to Beaver Island and we ate at the Shamrock twice during our weekend. We had the whitefish sandwich and fried green beans for lunch - both were very good! Then had shammy bread and a pizza for dinner one night. Also, very good. Pizza is a good size! Its a good little dive bar to get some food while on the island! Also open late for drinking!

Was too slow!

Slooowww Holy moly that was some slow service. I am very used to having poor service when visiting some areas, but this took the cake. Please train your staff. Otherwise, the patio was nice and most of the food was good. (It would have been better not cold). The French dip was great!

There were not many restaurants open at this early time in the season, but we were fine with visiting the Shamrock three times! All of the meals we had were excellent, the service was great, and the staff was very friendly.

Not impressed Was super hungry

Not impressed Was super hungry after driving plus the ferry ride, hoping for at least an excellent pizza....turned out so so the mushrooms were canned and the dough was old and ended up producing a belly ache half way back to our Cabin. Definitely not worth the $$
