We picked this place for our get together and it was nice. The food was reasonable in price even though it was not as generous as other places we have been to. But it was good. The beer was cold and good too. There were...not a lot of people there but that could have been because of the winter weather. Our waitress was knowledgable and nice. You can sit at the bar or at one of the other tables in the other sections of the place. We will be back to this place.More

Just had lunch here. Not so good. Burger was very overdone. Fries underdone. My husband had a shrimp basket. The shrimp were very tough. The waitress was working her tail off as she was the only one in the front. Too bad.

Christina the bartender really did not want to be there. We had to find her sitting in other room for silverware and again for condiment. She stated she did not feel like serving people that day. We still left her 20 percent that she didn't...deserve. She should seek work other than than with public.More

Stopped here while motorcycle riding with friends. Clean and quite, there's 2 sides. One with bar and one more for eating. Husband and I got the ft long hot dog special, I got fries instead of chips. Husband got onion rings. Friend got the cod...fish sandwich. All of it was good, fries are nice and crispy! We also got the 7 layer carrot cake, it's huge and so yummy!More

Another fun Friday night at Bangor Tavern. The fish fry was very good and if you don't care for fish there is so much more to choose from. Peggy was our waitress and as usual she was terrific. There are several beers to choose from. Everything...is affordable.I recommend Bangor Tavern to everyone that wants to have a fun night with good food, good beer and friendly surrounds.More

This place needs to fire everyone! The bartenders suck, the kitchen staff is mediocre and slow, We don't have to eat here, and I won't go back! Three strikes and your out! Now there is no place to eat in Bangor except Subway.

Stopped here with friends while antiquing on M-43 today. Went based on trip advisor reviews. Very good choice. Waitress was wonderful and friendly offering suggestions for my gluten free needs. Settled on a bun less burger which was great. My friends got pulled pork meals...with sweet potato fries and loved them. This place even had a small salad bar. Not a lot of ambiance but a really clean and fun place. Give it a try and I think you'll like it.More

Eat here quite often for breakfast. Not sure what is going on with the restaurant as it was closed for a couple of weeks recently and not it looks like the old owner is back. Hope he doesn't bring back his old cooks who couldn't...for the life of them make a decent tasting soup!More

We each had a different meal and none tasted good. The perch was completely tasteless, the prime rib was swimming in juice and the burger was greasy. The waitress was more concerned about going outside for a smoke.

We had dinner in the Bangor Tavern with friends and found the service and food to be excellent. Portions were more than adequate and seating was comfortable. Only drawback was the noise from the Karoake taking place in the lounge portion of the restaurant, but...otherwise a very pleasant place to eat.More

I was passing thru Bangor the other day and chose to give this place a try. I was warned by locals that they were expensive but I stopped anyway. Boy I wish I would have kept going! There beer selection is pathetic, and the service...was slow, but the worst thing was to have the Philly Cheese suggested and then get served THE WORST SANDWICH EVER! The cook was just back from somewhere else and they should have let him stay there! I ordered a simple steak and cheese sandwich that was made with uncooked CANNED mushrooms, undercooked onions and chewwwwy steak, all served on an old bun that was COLD! When I mentioned this experience to the 4 guys who worked with me the following day, and they were all locals, they were not surprised at all! EAT anywhere but here!More

We've ate here numerous times and sometimes the food/service is great, other times ??? Doesn't seem consistent. One thing that is always the same is the soups/chili. Ugh. I keep trying thinking I'll find one I like. Hasn't happen so far. Hubby does admit they...have a good hamburg, and the Friday Fish Fry is good too, but, here's an example of why I'm giving them an average rating. My friend and I went there for lunch. Both of us order the same thing - a salad with grilled chicken. My salad came with hard-boiled eggs (among other items), and her's didn't. Why the salads weren't made with the same ingredients is why I say this restaurant is not consistent.More
