Needed a place to hang out for a bit while theatre classes going on - so impressed hub the find across from the Hanover. Haven’t had the occasion to try any of the food selections yet, but the cocktails are top-notch and a true throwback...to last century. Bartenders and great and really know their stuff!More

We went here for food and drinks before a show. The food menu is a bit limited with meat and cheese boards and sandwiches. We gave ourselves 90 minutes before seeing a show at the Hannover and good thing we did. We ordered two sandwiches...and a charcuterie board to start and It took nearly 40 minutes for our charcuterie board to come out with the sandwiches arriving 10 minutes after that. Drink service was prompt though with an excellent draft beer selection. It was a good place to grab a drink and some food before the show but make sure you give yourself extra time if you want to order food and the place is busy. On another note, the atmosphere is very cool and has a speakeasy kind of vibe. The food is a bit expensive for what you actually get, so be prepared for a decent sized bill. A good choice before seeing a show at the Hannover.More

The Muse is a unique Worcester spot. Great cocktails, craft beers and good eats that isn't always easy to find in this city. The staff has plenty of knowledge of their goods which is great for someone like me who can be rather indecisive. Tucked...away across from the Hanover theater, the Muse is a place I highly recommend.More

Delicious cocktails from a knowledgeable barman! Excellent pickle platter from the kitchen! All in a beautiful restored space. Go there before or after a Hanover show, you won't be disapointed!

The Muse is an incredible place. It is classy, beautiful and very unique. We love it there. Owned by a long time Worcesterite, this is an important local business to support. We love the ambiance, no TVs..great conversation, great staff..awesome food and drink. The owner...truly loves what he does and it shows!More

I have pulled my support on this website and my patronage of The Muse in response to two consecutive, extremely unprofessional, loud and explosive emotional outbursts between the owners during a visit in December, 2018. Prior to that point, I had been one of the...longest “regulars” beginning shortly before the formal opening in late 2015. Trip Advisor’s 04/08/2019 email identified that my glowing review of The Muse dated 12/21/2015 had over 6,500 readers prior to my deleting it. That was one of several I deleted. I waited until now to formally sever my relationship with The Muse because I had hoped the owner would reach out to me as he is very aware of the “why” and “what” for my walking out of the bar after the second outburst, most notably because he immediately apologized for the first outburst. Unfortunately, their peace accord lasted less than a minute, prompting my decision to not spend my intended birthday celebration in such a hostile and emotionally charged atmosphere. And by not reaching out to me over the past 4 months, the message of his lack of appreciation for my prior patronage, support and friendship is very clear and motivating this decision. Contrast this with Delta’s Customer Service department, who solidified my patronage by the positive and immediate remedial measures they took last week in response to my reporting a very negative experience during an international flight transfer in France. Delta understood that I have choices as to where I spend my money and they actively fought to retain my patronage. A lesson The Muse has yet to learn. The outbursts I experienced in December at The Muse were not a surprise but were the last straw as they were the culmination of other negative incidents I had witnessed. Such as the owner publicly insulting and firing bartenders and humiliating them with profane criticism; all of this occurring behind the bar, directly in front of and within earshot of customers. This is a significant factor, per discussions with past bartenders, as to why The Muse has burned through every bartender they’ve hired and why, for several months prior to December, 2018, the only regular bar servers were the owners. Firing a bartender via text is also something I’ve never heard considered as professional treatment of employees. The Muse provides excellent and inventive cocktails and has a very impressive range of offerings, notably Amari, Scotches and Bourbons. I’ve also met wonderful people there and have used it as a venue to introduce friends and associates to higher end cocktails and as a conversational place to gather. I also agree that it offers other positive attributes as highlighted in other Trip Advisor reviews. However, for me, even with my long history with The Muse, this was all wiped away by the above outbursts last December and the erosion of my hope for change due to my witnessing over the years other unprofessional and uncomfortable events where the owner acted out in a public, business venue as if he were in the privacy of his living room berating family members and by the continued silence from and lack of active customer appreciation by the owner after my abrupt departure and absence since.More

Located directly across from the Hanover Theatre this hidden gem serves wonderful and inventive hand-crafted cocktails! Run by a super cool and fun couple John and Lindsay, we made fast friends and stayed quite a while as the drinks were wonderful! Be sure to stop...in before or after a show!
