My husband and I dined here on 8/21 outside under the tent. Very spacious table spacing, I felt safe dining out. Very comfortable, great food, exceptional service. Steamers, chowder, and steak. Jordan and ? (my apologies, can't remember his name) were phenomenal. What a pleasure...to have excellent food as well as excellent service. Highly recommend.More

If you don’t value your privacy and you can settle for mediocre food, then The Sole is the place for you. I was going to have dinner there tonight like I have many times before, but I was refused service due to not supplying my...personal information for “tracing purposes”. I told the manager that I had been there just last week with no personal information requirements and he said he was going to fire the employee who let that happen. Last time I checked, The Sole Proprietor is an American restaurant, not North Korean. Absolutely disgusting. These people don’t care about their employees, why do you think they would care about creating a positive restaurant experience? Never stepping foot inside this pathetic establishment again.More

Overall poorly cooked cold food and terrible service based on what is was before. No bread...the wedge salad was neither a wedge nor a real salad; lettuce and 5 grape tomatoes with terribly sweet french dressing. Drinks seemed watered down. Won't ever go back due...to this corner cutting joint that used to be good before corona hit.More

Hard to find and limited parking, but worth the drive. The dinners are outstanding and worth the wait. Very noisy and sit very close. Worth the wait for your dinner. Servers are very good and the meals are presented well. Maybe a little more veggies...on the plate. Best for seafood.More

My wife and I live on Cape Cod, so we know a good lobster roll. We drove up to Worcester to visit our aunt this afternoon who's been stuck in a retirement home with no visitors this spring (Covid-19), and wanted to bring her a...treat. Asked a local friend who recommended The Sole Proprietor. Very good choice! We got 3 lobster rolls, the ¼ pound small size for just $17, and let me tell you, they were anything but small! I wish I had taken a photo to show you....this roll was overflowing with big chunks of lobster claw meat, just a light touch of mayo, and no fillers like lettuce which some places use. The roll itself was an above average brioche roll, grilled golden brown in real butter. Mmm mmm!!! Each one comes with a nice side of french fries, the kind that have a little crunchy coating that just adds to the delightfulness. In addition. you get a side of cole slaw and a wedge salad. We aren't wedge people, so we chose to upgrade to their Caesar salad...again, very generous. The take out container measured a good 9 x 6 inches. Honestly, we ended up bringing it home for the next day. Our 94 year old aunt couldn't have been more delighted, either. Of course, they never serve lobster rolls in a nursing home! Next time we drive up this way to visit, we will make a point of returning to The Sole Proprietor! You should, too! After we finished eating in their parking lot (Covid 19 rules time; take out only ), we went back and gave the owner a big $20 cash tip to thank him and his staff!More

Living in Worcester for over ten years while attending medical school and residency there we grew to love so many restaurants including The Sole. I don't know what changed however on our last visit we left disappointed. Each dish left something to be desired. Most especially...was my seafood sautee that was nothing like the dish that I got there many times. The pasta was limp the seafood seemed steamed as opposed to sauteed. The salmon dish was over cooked however the bread was very good.More

The food is fresh and yummy. Portion size is on the smaller side compared to the price. You will finish every morsel from your plate for sure😄!

First off, the food offered is very good and all the dishes we had were well prepared and enjoyable. They do, indeed , offer a nice array of seafood and they do it well. We were there on a very busy Sunday evening and the...service was up to the rush. they offer a very nice selection of cocktails and the wine list, the subject of the annoying trait, leans heavily on domestic wines and, if in stock. I have found that American restaurants, which employ sophisticated software to manage their restaurants do not let translate over to keeping their wine lists current. I ordered 2 different wines from the wine list, both out of stock and superceded by different vintages, which, when it comes to wine, is like offering a completely different wine at the same price. the manager had spurious reasons for the disparities but was kind enough to offer a free pour of another wine as a token of apology which was very nice on his part.. Still, I think that any restaurant that wants to be considered top shelf has to pay attention to this aspect of their offering and reprint the wine lists, which are generally on stock paper and very easy to print , and show the mutual respect to there wine oriented patrons. This lack of current status of the wine lists is truly a unique American problem. Other than that nit this is a place where we will dine again and it is recommended.More

As a big time seafood fanatic, I'm pretty picky. So I had my fingers crossed, when I chose this place for a get-together with a couple of similarly picky old friends a month ago. We've all eaten at some of the best seafood restaurants on...both coasts, and while Worcester might be landlocked, the Sole Proprietor takes second place to none of those seaside destinations. The seafood is right off the boat, perfectly prepared and delivered by the most professional, informative and hospitable servers. Our group usually gets together only a few times a year, but we all enjoyed it so much that we had to go back last week for another great experience... and it was. I can't recommend this place highly enough. Check it out!More
