Great place for seafood

Service was amazing, Jason and Katarina were perfect! The food is always 5 stars! Tonight was a slight exception. We sat near the kitchen as we are fascinated with how professional and awesome the Chef's are. I watched my main course leave the kitchen toward the bar area on the other side of the restaurant, then it went back to the kitchen and sat in the staging shelf then they brought it to my table. I asked why my meal traveled through the restaurant and was assured that it never hit the table of another guest. You would think dinner with a $200 price tag they would remake it and serve it fresh.

Luncheon prices reasonable with good portions

My friend and I had a great time at the Sole. We both had the sole with lemon rice and spinach, perfectly prepared and enough fish to take home for a snack. We never felt rushed. Our server Jim, always very efficient and very pleasant and his server partner were a delight. It can be chilly in the restaurant at times. Compared to a lot of other restaurants for lunch, most entrees are priced very fairly. I wonderful spot to dine!

Great place in Worcester!

We originally came for the 10 dollar lunch promotion, but I upgraded to the baked Haddock. It was delicious. Some of the best that I have had. The service was first rate and gracious, and the atmosphere, though very crowded, was also great, as we were tucked into an alcove with four or five other tables. We had a reservation, and even though there was a long line of people waiting for a table, we were seated almost immediately. I was very impressed by all facets of this restaurant and will surely return.

Boiled verses Sauteed

I went to the Sole on a Thursday evening. It was busy but not packed. Service was fantastic but the food was not. I ordered the sauteed seafood with squid ink linguini and substituted linguini for veggies. First meal came out with over boiled seafood,tough and just boiled in broth.I thought sauteed meant sauteed in a pan and added to broth. I sent meal back only to have my partner already finish his meal and I then received another serving of boiled seafood. This was an expensive meal and someone should tell the chef that sauteed is Not boiled!

Not so great.

My wife ordered sole in browned butter. What came on top of her fish looked and tasted more like chicken gravy. She also ordered clam chowder and the flour in it wasn't cooked well and affected the taste of the soup badly. I ordered swordfish. It was overcooked and quite tough. Neither of us finished more than half our meals. We had already ordered take-out for our son. Clam strips and f fries. There were very, very clam strips and the chowder we ordered had the same problem was what my wife ate in the restaurant. Her prosecco was good. My beer was good. The raw oysters were good. Service was excellent. But we won't be going back any time soon.

Excellent Lunch as a fair price in a nice busy atmosphere.

We went in response to the $10.00 January Lunch promotion. I called and asked what time would be best to avoid crowds as I am immuno-compramised. They said they were always crowded but that I would be guaranteed a table if I made a reservation. We arrived 10 minutes early and were promptly seated in an alcove which made us feel more comfortable, as it was indeed very crowded. We upgraded to the fried haddock lunch which took us out of the promotion and it was absolutely delicious. The haddock portion was medium and size with a very thin batter and lots of fish. The fries were good and the Cole slaw was fantastic. The service was attentive, pleasant and top notch. This place is very well organized, well-run, and very welcoming. The food is also very good and reasonably priced. It was a real treat to come here today.

The Sole continues to deliver the best seafood in the area. Took advantage of “Buster Crab” fest they put on each July. From the Best soft shell crab and spinach, crab and artichoke apps, to the King Crab legs and Crab Cake/Lobster Tail entries, the meals were fabulous. We love the Sole’s practice if pairing a two person wait team and having a separate runner bringing the plates. Never a gap in service, w/o feeling rushed.

Excellent seafood selection in downtown Worcester

Sole Proprietor has an excellent seafood selection in a downtown Worcester restaurant. Our family started with crab cakes, "bang-bang" shrimp and a "dynamite" sushi roll as appetizers; each was tasty. These were followed by different types of the salmon; each was excellent. Service was also excellent on a weekday dinner, and there was enough space in the parking lot. If you like seafood this is a classic choice.

A great experience in so many ways

This was our first visit to Sole Proprietor, and it was perfect. The menu skillfully accommodates a variety of dietary restrictions, and our dinners were great. There was a lively ambiance, and the service was professional - focused and attentive, but not intrusive. A huge part of our satisfaction with this visit is directly due to our server, Brandon. He was friendly, knowledgeable and FUN. He really helped to make our anniversary celebration festive.

My wife and I celebrated our 27th anniversary on 12/2/22. We have not been to the sole for sometime. We were quickly greeted by hostess/manager( male) who promptly told us give him a few minutes to clear a booth. 3 minutes later we were taken to out booth near the kitchen and it was perfect. Waitress came and filled out water quickly. Waitress gave us perfect time to look over the menus. We ordered Maine steamers for appetizer nand than I ordered the entree baked haddock n my wife ordered lobster roll. Dinner rolls were delicious and perfect. Soon after out steamers arrived. We have eaten our share of steamers n these were well the best. Steamed in a little bit of garlic they were perfect. Hot n tasty . The sole has ruined any other place for steamers in a good way. Not long after a man from the kitchen served us our entrees. Knew who was getting what which I love the attention to detail. My wife’s lobster roll was incredible. That’s a understatement. The entree came with fries and coleslaw. I of course sampled both n OMG. My entree of baked haddock w ritz topped m fingerling baked potatoes and asparagus was delightful. Team of staff came over and asked how meal was n despite being overwhelmed w this meal we could get the word out that it was great. At the end, my wife had placed in reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary n waitress came out with plate of 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream with happy anniversary around the larger plate. My wife cried. Thank you for the incredible service, food and perfection. We will be back soon. Best restaurant around. 1000000000000000/10 Jim n lisa

Beautiful restaurant with amazing service, delicious food and gorgeous setting. The lobster roll was FULL of lobster and served with salad, coleslaw and fries. There was so much lobster we couldn’t eat the fries

Wife and I went for a date night with high expectations. Wife had baked seafood platter ($39) piece of fish, 2 clams casino, 1 baked stuffed shrimp and a lobster tail. Add on beet salad ($7). Clams were meh. Rest was pretty good. I had blackened sea scallops ($35) with asparagus and potatoes. Got a lot of small scallops, blacken seasoning had a nice kick. Asparagus was good as were potatoes. Add the Ceasars salad with anchovies ($7) which was ok. Rolls were hard and not very warm. Overall a decent meal but over priced. In and out in 45 minutes. Don't think we'll be back soon.

Shrimp for 4 dinners all very over-cooked and dry

Gathered with 3 friends before a show. All ordered the same meal- - boat to table jumbo shrimp with Ritz cracker topping that also came with salad, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Veggies cooked just right, salad with house dressing very good, excellent rolls as well as dessert that we shared. The shrimp were all very overcooked and dry. I even had a hard time cutting the shrimp with my knife. Very good server. Disappointing but could have been great.

Delicious, great atmosphere and great service. We enjoyed the bang bang shrimp appetizer, the Lobster Roll with butter and the Sole Meunière. Highly recommend this place. Parking lot was big and full but attendant was helpful.

The Sole is still among the best in Central Ma

We have not visited here in a while. This was the last week of their “Crabfest” the meal and service were fabulous! I had the soft shell crab with fried rice. The Chef really knows how to blend various tastes to complement one another and result in a unique dish. Shaved Crab legs, fried scallions, on top of just right amount of soy Flavored fried rice with a fresh fried egg…the soft shelled crab, finished tempura style was to die for. Wife had an equally fabulous dual crab cake, mostly Crab Meat (not filling)and a real main lobster tail on top. As always, the Sole’s signature service of having two servers assigned per table ensured, our three courses were on time, no annoying overlap and we didn’t have to beg for drinks. We will be certain to keep them on our “Go To” list for a monthly visit
