Lunch for two. Chicken dish came with white globs of a gelatinous nature that were so absurdly salty that they needed to be spit out into the napkin. Neither of us had the slightest idea what the substance was and had to call the waitress...(in her 60s?) to ask her. She insisted it was the chicken. I simply cannot be: white, gelatinous, no texture inside, no taste except overpowering salt. It just could not have been chicken. We are both sti stunned and have no idea what came on that plate. The waitress's reaction was to walk away. We should have gotten up and walked out at this point but we decided to make the best of it. Pushed the white gloves aside. Other vegetables were visually recognizable but had a bizarre, unnatural texture similar to very stiff Jell-O. The only taste was salt. They were pushed aside leaving the pork fried rice. It was rubbery, as if chewing flecks of rubber. Other lunch order consisted of two very flat, overly-fried crab Rangoons, a very thick egg roll that was excessively greasy, and two very thick strips of chicken teriyaki on skewers. The chicken teriyaki was the least inedible but wasn't good enough to finish. This dish also came with pork fried rice that wasn't quite as rubbery as that on the other plate, but it was also excessively greasy. I'm shocked that such low quality food actually gets served. I haven't experienced anything that comes close to this before. The food was not edible. The waitress asked how everything was when she came to collect the plates. Obviously everything wasn't great because both plates were still full. I politely but seriously said, "I've never had to say this before but everything we ordered was simply inedible. I'm shocked. And it is simply not possible that this white lumpy substance is chicken. It is so bad both of us had to spit it out." She said "Oh, sorry" very casually and without convinction and walked away. Due to the fact that small restaurants took a hot during COVID we decided to pay for what was served but we paid cash in the exact amount of the bill. The waitress was clearly part of the family that owns the place (best guess would be owner's wife) and she knew darn well that we'd been completely disappointed. Cannot. Believe. The. Horrible. Quality. Just can't believe it. The interior was dumpier than we remembered from previous visits (most recent visit before this was around 2015). Never ever going back. I actually feel like I need some kind of cleansing to wash this experience off of myself. We were both disgusted. Zero stars. Worst dining experience I've ever had, by far.More

we got takeout of boneless spareribs and beef teriyaki and both were fairly good in taste the price of $9 each is kind of on the high side. most of the time the spareribs are juicy and tasty but a few times have been slightly...burnt and crispyMore

Our office ordered as we had a meeting. There were about 18 of us. The food was good. I loved the Crab Rangoon and the Boneless Spareribs. The food came hot and there was alot of it. Not one of us had a complaint. Great...overall for such a large order!!More

What a complete disappointment. My husband and I have been patronizing Foodworks since it opened but with recent renovations come higher prices and really bad food!!! This place now owes points! Burnt to a crisp crab rangoons, general gau's chicken and absolutely tasteless egg roles...are all new on this inflated menu. And the worst part is we got to pay $44.00 for it! Time to find a new restaurant that cares more about the customer than their appearance.More

Got a HUGE bug in my drink...not a little tiny nothing bug, but a HUGE Japanese beetle! Bartender didn't even blink an eye or even offer me a new drink! Sushi smells so foul that we couldn't eat it and the food (crab ragoons and...chicken fingers ) were awful! Will never return. It's a shame.More

This was always my go-to Chinese take out place but the last order I had was so terrible I can't ever bring myself to go back. Gray, awful looking chicken that was rubbery and probably microwaved about 2 minutes too long. Mushy almost rotten looking...vegetables. It's a shame because they seemed like a family business they took some pride in their food before. It isn't super-cheap and I'm also pretty forgiving. I have no idea what happened. Ive had tastier Chinese food at mall courts.More

Food works has been around for years. I have been eating there for about 10 years, was always a nice a nice place for good affordable lunches, with generous portions. Now prices are still comparable to all others but the portions have gone down and most of...the time the food seems like most was precooked or over cooked.More

Kenny and his wife now own Food Works and welcome everyone to the restaurant. They have a nice menu and there is something for everyone. We go there several times a month for lunch or dinner. Qi Yajuan often has the "Seafood Delight" while I...enjoy the "General Tso's Chicken, Egg Roll, and Crab Rangoon. The Crab Rangoon is the best I have ever had but made with cream cheese. I don't care much for the crab at all.More

We ordered a takeout for New Years Eve. We also ordered it the day before for pickup (early before the crowds and chaos) at 5PM. We picked up the order, paid for it and when we got home it was the wrong order. We went...back, they supposedly remade the order as we waited. (now 7:15PM) Again left understanding that it was a very busy night. Got home again to find it was the wrong order again! We ate it, well what we could of it. It was dry, overcooked and missing noodles, etc.. We called the next day and was told that we need to speak with the manager. Called several days in a row. No manager. Once we finally got him, he offered 10% discount next time we ordered. We will go elsewhere for sure. The 10% won't even cover the gas to-and-from.More

Took my daughter on a quick mommy daughter date & the food tasted funny, like it was microwaved, I don't normally complain so I just let it go & paid the bill & within an hour my daughter & I were home throwing up. Went...back explaining what happened & asking for a full refund of $28. Instead I got yelled at by one of the managers saying i had no proof it was from the food & they would not give me a refund. We normally do take out from there regularly & instead of keeping a existing customer & showing good customer service, they lost a customer forever & I will be sure to tells others about what kind of experience we got when we went there. Food was not worth the money, there are so many better places around to pick from, with fresher food & better customer service.More

Serving mostly take out, but I believe all of their restaurants now have seating, Foodworks is the standard for Chinese food in the Worcester area. Menu is extensive and typical, offering all the usual variations of your favorites. Service is quick, packaging efficent, staff is...always friendly and helpful. Food is consistently well prepared, almost always fresh--the only point that keeps me from going with Excellent, things like fried rice are prepared ahead, from what I've been told only twice a week so sometimes dishes suffer a little but are still good. Its where I always go and would not hesitate to recomend.More
