Papa's Charlie's is a hangout in downtown Williamstown. There is a huge menus of sandwiches named for the many celebrities and actors who have visited over the years. Often they are performing in he Williamstown Theatre Festival. In the burbs you will have died and gone to deli heaven.

Decent sandwiches and snacks. What you'll remember are the menu item names that are inspired by actors and actresses who have participated in the Williams Theatre Festival over the decades. The menu boards were a mainstay of the original Pappa Charlie's and as ownership passed on and the building was replaced with something more modern, the menu signs carried over... More

a Spring Street tradition. Pappa C's has lots of great sandwich option. Or, design your own. Bring some appetite after a busy day hiking or exploring Williamstown

I just stopped by for a coffee, but both regular coffee pots were empty! The sandwich offerings looked enticing, but I was not humgry. The visiting Bowdoin women's soccer team, however, ordered food the the team there, and they seemed pretty happy!

This looks a very run down place, but it does a great variety of very good sandwiches and excellent soups for far cheaper, and faster service than the smarter places along the road. Good honest food.

My girlfriend and I stopped here for lunch on our way to the Clark Art institute. What a find. Sandwiches were very tasty. With over 40+ different choices, each one named after an actor or actress, your sure to find something to your taste. Decor is quite rustic and the seating limited, but there are tables outside which was perfect for... More

Consistent with Williamstown's theatre festival vibe, Pappa Charlie's offers up a dizzying array of sandwich choices all named after various actors. Whether or not they truly correspond to that person's sandwich preferences, it certainly makes for entertaining reading while deciding what to order! I went conventional with a turkey sandwich, but my husband and daughter's more daring choices were all... More

We ate there yesterday and really enjoyed it. 4 sandwiches, a bottled water, an iced coffee, and a bit for the tip jar was still under $30. Sandwiches were nicely done, but not overstuffed -- except for maybe the BLT, but since you can never have too much bacon... There are a few tables inside and some under a shaded... More

This is a convenient spot with interesting menu items & sandwich combos. Although staff seems nice & hard-working, food is unimpressive. And, although I ordered and was told I could have a tuna melt, what arrived was a cold tuna sandwich which I was told WAS a tuna melt because melted cheese had been placed between the tuna and bread.... Haven't been to Williamstown since our son graduated in '01. Still nice. This deli has the most choices of any that we have ever eaten at and the names of the sandwiches are fun to read. The food is just wonderful. It was well worth the stop on our way home to New Hampshire from Pittsfield.
