The remodel is nice but the food was such a disappointment worst chicken Parmesan my husband and I ever had. It was overcooked and very little sauce. Told the server and they said they were sorry but we were not offered another meal or any...compensation. My old fashioned was very weak. A little pricey for the location. Not planning to go back.More

The Venetian is terrific now that there are new owners and new staff. 8 years ago, we went there and were treated so poorly that we never went back. Gave it a try when ownership changed. So welcoming. Chef Paul is creating wonderful dishes. Food...is hot and well prepared. Steak is cooked as requested with excellent quality. Bread is delicious and comes from a bakery in Somerville. Generous portions. Eggplant caprese app is not to be missed. Enjoy the baked clams, meatballs. Salads are fresh and crisp. Pasta dishes and specials are prepared well. The restaurant prices have increased from past but well worth it. Restaurant is now clean and nice decor. I do think some reviews have been written by past sour grapes customers who are still looking for something for very little cost. Change can be difficult for some. I have nothing but good things to say about The Venetian. I have no business interest in this restaurant. My husband and I have just become satisfied regular customers. One of our favorites ! .More

I’m so surprised at the positive reviews here. Just goes to show most people don’t really know good food because everything at this restaurant was terrible. Gordon Ramsey would not approve. Maybe it’s because I’m a good cook myself or because I have a different...pallet but nothing from this restaurant was good. Overcooked pasta and bland sauces made for a terrible eating experience. Honestly, I couldn’t even eat more than 3 bites. I just could not do it. I’ve had excellent Italian food and this was not that. It’s almost like people heat it up seasonless frozen foods. Super super disappointing.More

I called to place an order over the phone. The woman who answered the phone was very rude. My baby was making noise so I asked her to hold for a minute while i put him down. She told me she doesn’t have time and...hung up on me. I don’t think this restaurant will stay in business very long since they don’t have time for paying customers.More

I went here for a wine dinner experience. The setup was a bit cramped and very loud. The wine was good. Some were better than others. The food was okay. Not great temperature as two dishes were cold. My steak was very overcooked, super well...done. Not sure if I will give it another try.More

Tonight my wife and I visited this Resteraunt as we are new to Weymouth and had heard great things. The atmosphere was quiet and intimate. The service by our server Cindy was excellent throughout the entire meal. The wine, pan seared scallops and canopies were...outstanding. This was a first time visit and we will definitely return. Having recently moved from the North Shore, this is our new Italian Resteraunt. Thanks for a great evening of wine food and atmosphere!More

We have been coming here for most likely 30 years and counting. We had noticed the food quality going downhill. When new owners took over, we tried it asa family , but were very disappointed as the old menu had changed completely and the food...was still not very good as the previous cook was still there and the place had not changed. We went there as we had noticed the outside looking so inviting and decided to give it a try after reading some reviews of improvements. Walked in,the front basically is the same, but much more inviting and the bar was full. Walked to the reception desk where the greeting was not really so inviting. Got seated and immediately , greeted by Gabby our server ( we were her very first customer) she did a very good job of taking care of us and passed the test. We ordered the antipasto board that was outstanding, the bred was as expected great . Ordered Nonna’s chicken soup Has to be the best ever. The baked Atlantic Cod was super fresh and cooked perfect, worth every bite. The Sunday Gravy Dish was rigatoni, sausage,Short ribs and the best meatball that I have had in a long time, all with a really very good sauce. There was no room for dessert !! Old fashion drink was very well executed. Wines were very good. Needs to be mentioned that this is no longer the ol’Venetian with cheap prices, everything has gone up, but still so reasonable considering the improved quality and taste of the food. The inside feels very cozy and friendly while the staff has a lot of new friendly faces. We will be back very often as we used to do.More

We had dinner here in August 2020. We had eaten here a couple of years ago BEFORE new ownership and hated it. So we’ve been wanting to try it again now with new owners and recent remodel. We were skeptical because of recent mixed reviews,...but we enjoyed it. We had a great bottle of Italian wine that we were familiar with, reasonably priced. We had a caesar salad that was good. For entrees we had chicken parm and the carbonara - both good and would order them again. Also had tiramisu. Chef came around to the tables to make sure everything was great. It’s pretty good for the price, a good casual option for dinner, and we will return!More

2nd visit, several months after takeout just after they opened. Faithful customers of the Venetian for over thirty years. Uh-oh, what a disappointment. Weekday evening, perhaps 1/4 of tables occupied. Group of (4); chicken marsala was ok, linguine w/clams small, tough, canned clams unappealing; small...and few meatballs with spaghetti; chicken parm routine. Asked for a salad, came half hour later at end of the meal ('kitchen is backed up'... hello?). New chef/owners did not carry over prior favorites.. and when we asked, server said 'Good luck with that'. Even the bread thin and disappointing. Sorry to see the old favorite start it's downward slide to extinction. Even more, with owner the son of Niko's... should know and do better.More

This place is a huge disappointment and total depressing let down. no meatball subs, skata tomato sauce, no more Pica antipasto, No more hand pounded chicken parm, no more chicken livers, no more shrimp scampi pizza, no more affordable lunch specials, what a tragedy. I...hope they go under by September and the picas can re open it as Picas old world Italian restaurant I will be their first customer even if I have to take a day off from work to go there! Oh Pica family how we miss you so! What a loss for Weymouth, hingham, Quincy area.More

We decided to try the venetian, we had not been since it has officially changes hands. My parents and all their friends have been going here regularly for 60+ years. We were immediately disappointed when we ordered large antipasto and we were told they dont...serve it anymore. They have some kind of greek version of antipasto. Next no chicken livers,NO CHICKEN LIVERS thats crazy, no meatball subs. I was not a fan of the sauce, chunky and too much parsley, I had to scrape it off the ravioli in order to eat them (ravioli were not bad themselves) but no side sausage available. Pizza is limiting, did not appear you had regular topping options just about 6 specialty pizzas, my mother got the cheese pizza, good size, ok for basic pizza. What happened to $5Pizza tuesday. I think pasta day is done also. The cannoli desert was a nice ending to a rather chaotic meal. I believe the waitress makes them up to order 1 plain, 1 chocolate chip and 1 pistachio. Would have gone well with a cappucino but they were a good share. I would check out Denly's, Ecco or Chateau if you are looking for olf fashion italian meal, sorry!!!More

I do not think so. It was not mentioned the last time I was there. You can always give the restaurant a call and ask.
