The ice cream attracts the kids, but the real food is good too. It is also a great summer tradition to visit Dairy Joy and eat outside on the picnic tables. Plus it always seems you can run into an old friend in line. So...More

Great little drive up restaurant where you eat out. The food is good and yes expensive but it’s an experience. The soft serve is great. I personally love the coffee/raspberry twist! They also have cream sickle, vanilla /chocolate and some new dairy free options. I...More

The food here is decent, although the ice cream and honey mustard is very good, but this is too exprensive for fast food. A chicken sandwich is around $10, while an incredibly small small fries will also charge you a few bucks. If you want...More

Having grown up in the area, I hadn’t been here in about 20 years. What was true then is true now, save the expanded menu to include some healthy stuff (thanks for that). Good clams Expensive Rest of food meh Same smug attitude (a person...More

This place is a tradition, and we go regularly, even though the ice cream is nothing to write home about, the prices are horrendous and the seating is on a busy road. It is nice that they now offer dairy free flavors.

This is the place you go on a hot evening with the kids to get inexpensive food and soft-serve ice cream that melts all over the place. It's a summer tradition! Twists, jimmies, dipped- everything a kid could want. Fried clams are also popular here...More

While the food is really better than most walk ups, the IceCream and the Fried Clams beat everything around. Dairy Joy is an institution around here. Well worth a little trip. On a beautiful day, eat outdoors.... Again....Fried Clams (and fries of course) topped with...More

This place is absolutely amazing for Lobster rolls, fish and chips, Cape Cod chicken salad and to top it off, ICE CREAM. It is a town favorite and never disappoints.

Charmingly retro, Dairy Joy was where we made a very happy visit today. (We'd passed it quite a few times. It's easy on this portion of 117 to blaze past it and you regret not turning in, but it's difficult to turn around and go...More

Thanks for this review, Dave! Glad you stopped in and enjoyed the ice cream. We'll be open for a few more weeks this year, too.

Continuously operated by the same family, the Cedar Hill Dairy Joy of Weston first opened its doors in 1961 and has served delicious summer favorites to millions over the decades. Dairy Joy has received countless awards and recognitions over the years and continues to serve some of the best soft-serve ice cream and fried seafood in all of New England. Longtime devotees of the roadside ice cream and fried seafood stop can expect to see menu favorites like brownie fudge sundaes, chocolate-dipped soft serve cones, hamburgers, fried clams, and Raspberry Lime Rickeys returning for yet another year, along with some exciting new additions year in and year out. Named one of the “33 Best Ice Cream Shops in America” by Thrillist, the legendary soft serve ice cream is made from scratch multiple times per day using fresh fruit purees. Dairy Joy’s unique JavaBerry flavor recipe was discovered by accident years ago when a manager mistakenly combined raspberry sherbet with coffee ice cream. A daring customer gave it a try and the rest is history.
