Well, i first read the reviews of others and thought to myself...did i really go to the same restaurant last night? First of all, from where I live to the Westwood is approximately 25 minutes..Left home 5 pm arrival approximately say 5:20 ordered, served and...out by 5:55. First and Foremost, your entree DOES not come with bread or salad, that's extra. I ordered their Famous Bourbon Tips. This meal arrived in under 10 minutes. Clearly I could see they were NOT grilled there. While they were grilled in appearance it was something either previously done, or their food service supplier did them and as far as the Famous Bourbon sauce, I saw the jug of what tasted like sweet maple syrup poured all over the tips...there was NO juice from the tips as one would expect from freshly grilled meats.....you have a choice of 2 sides...i got rice...that had been sitting all day. and a undercooked baked potatoe. Needless to say at 23.99 I was fuming....Next up the Pan Seared Scallops...meal comes on carrot puree with 2 sides (Or so I thought). The meal arrived again quickly, with the sides of garlic mashed potatoe and garlic and oil penne pasta...scallops were good, all 6 of them for 23.99....When the bill came, noticed were were charged 3.99 for the side of pasta, when questioned she told me the scallops only came with one side...and she figured we wanted 2 so added it in. IF you were to order this entree with bread and salad, it would have arrived 6 scallops on layer of carrot puree for 23.99. This meal now cost 28.00 and left hungry. The 2 beers were $17.00...a terrible meal, precooked for 74.00...a waitress that was "there" for money? and here's the topper. On the side of the kitchen where waitstaff prepares sides, there was a woman in there with a puppy. 2 of the waitstaff were ooing and aghing over this cute little puppy in the kitchen and cuddling the puppy from the owner then exiting the kitchen with food and drink. OK YOU DECIDE.....More
2nd time we have eaten here and we will definitely be back. All 4 of us loved our food and there were so many great choices it was hard to pick what to order. Beautifully decorated for Fall plus has a gorgeous bar. Great service...too!More
I started researching spots for my dad’s birthday dinner awhile ago. What mattered to me- consistently good reviews of the food online and from acquaintances. A menu that would appeal to each guest ( there were 12 of us age 24 to 80) Location convenient...to all of us, and a nice ambiance. The Westwood delivered on all fronts.
I stopped in several weeks prior to the event. Never having been here before, I was surprised how different the restaurant looks from the sterile exterior. Very warm and casual yet classy country farmhouse style. I was greeted by Tracy, a very personable manager who assured me that the Westwood would accommodate our family dinner very nicely, and that’s exactly what happened.
We arrived and our party was seated in a parlor room with a fireplace. This room and the entire restaurant was decorated in a Christmas winter wonderland fashion. Very festive. The room is not private but due to our early dinner arrival we were the only group in there
Our waitress Amanda provided us with the most courteous, professional service I could ever expect. She allowed us to set our own pace. I have never had the experience during a group dinner that all drinks, apps, dinners and side orders were delivered with such excellent timing and complete accuracy. She has a combination of organizational skills and people skills that truly enhances your restaurant experience,
We ordered 11 different entrees offf the menu (only 2 people ordered the same thing) and each person thought their food was excellent. The menu covers red meats, seafoods, chicken, pasta, and burgers. You can order classics or some inventive, unique dishes. Mild and subtly delicious dishes or something spicy. The choice of 2 sides with an entree provide the experience of a very personalized plate. You can tell the cooking staff cares about the quality of the work they are doing. I thought the pricing was on target.
I would say that there is a concerted and successful team effort at the Westwood that translated into what for us was a very enjoyable dining experience, I will return.More
Had lunch here today. The restaurant is very nice with a warm ambiance and our server was delightful. Our issue was with the kitchen. One in our party required a gluten free meal, but when our meals were served, her burger was on a standard...bun, my parmesan fries (not cooked in a gluten free manner) were on her plate, and her cole slaw was on my plate. We had to send her plate back to have her meal redone. Since I waited for her meal to arrive before beginning to eat, mine was getting cold when we started eating. I had a bison burger and it was very good considering the delay. Our server was very apologetic about the error, but since there were not many patrons in the place it spoiled a special lunch.More
We came here when in the area. They had a wide range of menu options at reasonable prices. I would have liked to see more vegetarian options.
The service was excellent and the food was fresh and served quickly. Our waitress was excellent and attentive.
This place is very consistent. Food is good and waitress attentive. The hosting was a little off...but we did arrive after 8pm on an early week night. We stood there quite a while and weren’t sure if we should seat ourselves or not. The lady...that came to seat us could have been a little warmer....we had a few kids and as usual you get the vibe that you’re not sure they really want you. Our kids behaved very well as our waitress commented on at the end of the meal. In this day and age few children are as well managed as ours so I understand the earlier hesitation. Our wAitress let us split a kids meal and mentioned she brought it out as one meal so we could do the splitting and avoid the fee for the kitchen to do it. Much appreciated! All our meals were hot and the kids ate every bit of their pasta. I live an hour away but get to this place a few times a year usually when traveling on business.More
The Westwood is conveniently located about a mile off the Mass Pike, Exit 3, if you are hungry for lunch and passing through. The menu has everything--pasta, sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers, steak tips--and the pub serves over 20 beers, many of them craft. The setting...is, as advertised, pub-like, with some nice stained glass windows and Tiffany-style lamps. The food is good. The service is prompt--the servers were tag-teaming the day we dined there. One server took our drink order, another took our food order, somebody else delivered it. This did cause a couple of minor flubs--I asked for mustard, with no mayo or ketchup, for my bison burger. It came with the mayo and ketchup in cups, but no mustard. This was promptly corrected. Also, I ordered the burger medium well, and I got medium. It was still quite edible, but somebody fussier would not have liked it.
My companion's pasta dish was good, but she found the sun-dried tomatoes a bit tough to chew. The lemon cream cake dessert was good. I found their flourless chocolate cake quite good, and it was not an overwhelming portion.
Price for lunch, with tip, including beverages and dessert, was about $60.
The Westwood is definitely worth a return visit.More
It was noisy but we sort of expected that with pub as part of its’ name...service prompt and pleasant but my entree (chicken Parmesan) was large in quantity and short on taste. Husband’s scampi was more appealing. Whole venue was a little short on appeal.
