We've been driving by the Celery Stalk for years & had never tried it - mainly because of parking. But, we finally gave it a try & are so glad we did. My corned beef sandwich was to die for and, although it was a...bit on the rare side for him, my husband enjoyed his roast beef. Super casual and a real mix of folks - local businesspeople, retirees, etc. An atmosphere that brought back memories of places similar to it in Boston when I was young. Yes, the cashier (who I assume is the owner?) is a bit of a curmudgeon, it's still a charming place with excellent food. Best yet, it's not a chain. We'll definitely be back.More

The Celery Stalk is a great little bistro perfect for lunch. Fresh salads, soups, and sandwiches make for a great cafe dining experience. A true hidden gem

I’ve had the Celery Stalk before as the food is decent. Walked in and saw a line for the cash register and when it was my turn the owner had asked if I had ordered yet and I said no, he says, “don’t you see...the sign that says, “order here”?”. And he points to the other side. I guess I could have read that, however, there are about 100 things to read in the establishment all over the walls..it didn’t draw my attention too well. Then finally I took my debit card to pay and he said, “cash or check only” and he shakes he head and smirks, “there’s an atm right here or one at the other place..”. So basically I was treated like an idiot in an establishment I was giving my money too.. no one spends as much time at a restaurant as the owners and staff and not everyone knows the ins and outs, where to look, or where to go.. I’ll never go here again. The owner is absolutely obnoxious.More

This little restaurant in downtown West Springfield is a must stop for quick work lunch. Great selection of soup and deli style sandwiches. Would recommend the basic chicken soup. Food portions are fair. The staff is rather entertaining. The restaurant itself is rather small and...can be quite crowded. Overall a good place to give a try to.More

This is the absolute best place to get fresh grinders and soups. They are absolutely delicious...everything is fresh...the bread, the meats, the cheeses, the veggies...just great! And the homemade soups are awesome. Love how the inside hasn't changed...always feels like home!

The Celery Stalk is an amazing place to grab a quick soup an sandwich lunch. They have a wonderful variety of fresh home made soups, an their sandwiches are classic deli style. This is our go to spot to grab lunch and head for the...park. The chicken salad sandwich is my favorite. Wednesday is Cheeseburg Chowder day! You can't go wrong with a bowl of that soup. The Celery Stalk is a classic in West Springfield, and so much better than going through a drive through. Call ahead and they will have your food ready to go.More

I come here about once a week for lunch. You can’t beat the price for lunch. Excellent variety of soups. My favorites are the cheeseburg chowder, chili and chicken rice soup. I usually have a meatball sandwich with a cup of soup or chowder. They...only accept cash.More
