Solea is an average to good tapas restaurant. There were few wow dishes. Highly recommend the special salad offered, the Lamb meatballs, and VERY spicy grilled shrimp mojo rojo. The rest of the offerings were all tasty and filling, but had very little preparation or...presentation. The cocktail drinks in plastic cups was a bit off-putting and sad actually. When you order their very tasty gimlet and in comes in a plastic cup not even half full($12), I almost sent it back. ( Granted this may be a City of Waltham ordinance for the outdoor dining on Moody Street, and as we hadn't dined down there this summer we do not know. ). The over all service was sketchy. Waited 10+ mins for a waiter who never came after we were seated. The hostess finally took our drink order. ...and then the food delivery was all over the place, to the point the our last 2 tapas arrived almost 25 mins AFTER our order was placed and AFTER we had paid the tab!! It seemed the busier the restaurant came the slower our food arrived. It went from table served 5 mins after placing an order to about 25 mins over the 75 mins we were there. (I do thank the manager who stepped up and comp'd those tapas and letting us take them home, as it wasn't something we asked them to do!) The biggest issue I had concerned our dining table was right on what was the Moody Street sidewalk, and walkers were still using the sidewalk for passage down Moody Street within 1-2 feet of our table. This isn't practicing social distancing!! Thankfully all walkers were masked!More

Solea is my absolute favorite restaurant in Waltham. The tapas, the sangria, the vibe, the service, the bartenders, everything is always truly amazing. I always go for the royal sangria, patas bravas, toastadas de alcachofas (my all-time fav), lamb meatballs, and the lobster ravioli!!! Anything...you choose will be amazing!More

We enjoyed our dinner at the Solea Restaurant. The restaurant is larger than what it seems in the photos. Finding a parking space was a challenge. The waiter was friendly and gave us good suggestions. Some of the tapas were better than others. I liked...and recommend the jamon serrano, patatas bravas, empanadas, manchego cheese and tortilla espanola. The sangria was delicious!More

Great atmosphere. Interesting and tasty Tapas (small plates) We ordered the garlic shrimp (comes with bread), and brussel sprouts to share. Excellent choices. Also the cauliflower and broc fritters. Nice and crispy outside and soft inside but need a bit of seasoning. Quite tasteless- we...thought. Look forward to returning to sample some more!More

Stopped here just for a few tapas after work. Good service at the bar as well as nice drinks. Enjoyed the sizzling shrimp and the crab ravioli tapas. They are always good....and ate too much of their bread, because it is quite good and mixes...well with all of their tapas.More

All five tapas were delicious: lemon pasta, red potato, lamb meatballs, salmon, Brussel sprouts. Service, except for one very delayed dish, was speedy.

Stopped in for my 2 favorite tapas dishes, roasted Brusselsprouts & lamb meatballs in a truffle sauce. Consistently wonderful as is the Latinx hospitality!price was right too for the value. I was there late evening so I was able to be seated quickly. Will be...back in 2020! Feliz Anno Nuevo!More

First time going to the restaurant even having lived 4-mins away. A friend and I decided to check it out for dinner. I made the reservation and when I walked in, the host showed me to my table where my friend was already waiting for...me. The server came and introduced himself and asked what we would like to order aside water (we stuck with water). We asked so many questions on what he recommended because I have some allergens. We tried some tapas which was good but the highlight was the Oceano Paella - it was the bomb.com if you like seafood. Some places don't give a lot of meats or fish but they did quite the opposite. We were able to share the food and we were both full. The food was tasty and just well done. We went around 5pm so it was not too packed, cool ambiance and nice decor. And then for desert, I got churros which comes with hot dark chocolate dip which I did not quite like but the churros were good as it was my first time trying it. It was a different vibe but I had a really good time, good customer service and great food.More

While at the farmer’s market, we decided to eat lunch here. I’m guessing Solea is more of a dinner place, but there is no bad time for tapas. And these were quite good. The menu has the whole variety and then some. You cannot make...a bad choice here. From the sauce served with the cauliflower broccoli fritters, I could tell taste was their number one priority. Would love to come back and try more!More
