My niece wanted to go for afternoon tea for her birthday last year after she saw an article about this place called "Fancy That". My sister didn't realize how popular this place was and ended up having to make reservations for a several months after my nieces birthday. This ended up being a good thing because it gave me time to buy my "outfit". Yes the dress , the hat and the gloves all English Tea appropriate. We arrived to an adorable Victorian house. We were seated in our own private little room. A perfectly set table with English bone China with a little pink crystal over the table. A large window with lace curtains. And pink velvet settee. We were served little tea sandwiches, muffins and macaroons on a three tier plate and of course tea. I was by no way "Full", but everything was delicious. I believe it was a little $$$, but so much fun and worth the experience

Our tea to go was delicious!

Delicious and beautifully packaged tea to go. The tea sandwiches were delicious, scones freshly baked and desserts so yummy. The tea house is decorated so cute. The owners are very nice and efficient. This was our second time here and I would highly reccomend it to everyone.

Pink frills

Imagine sipping your favorite tea and tasting a variety of bite-sized culinary treats in a generously decorated, mostly pink, private tearoom in a gingerbread cottage. The few ninety-minute seatings each day are limited, so it is not unusual to have to wait several weeks for a reservation. Except for the choice of tea and alternative beverages, the menu selections each day are picked by the host and served on a three-tiered tray. While not a major tea fancier, I did enjoy my scented oolong – each of us were served our own small pot with a tea cozy. The server remained attentive to the table, responding quickly when we rang the call bell. Classical music completed the ambiance. The only other word I can use to describe this tasty, pampered experience is “civilized.”

Great local place for tea

This place is outstanding and if you plan to go during a holiday time or school vacation, make plans well in advance. The staff takes special care to provide all types of tea in a lovely and very clean setting with many options for tea sandwiches and cookies, etc. We highly recommend and give them 10 out of 10 rating. Our thanks for a wonderful time each experience!

Wonderful Afternoon Tea

Tea? Did Someone say Tea? Fancy That Tea house has a huge selection of Tea's for you to select when you're visiting for Afternoon Tea..Sarah and Brad will patiently answer all of your questions about there extensive Tea menu..Loretta and I enjoy every single minute of our Afternoon Tea at Fancy That.From the moment we entered till our Good byes at the end. I felt sad it was over when I left..That's how good it is..The tower of food and dessert left Loretta and I completely satisfied..On the top were Lemon cake and Scones..Middle row was Finger sandwiches included Cucumber, Chicken salad and Corn beef..All were very good..Bottom row had macaroons and Tiramisu..Mini servings of Clotted Cream and Strawberry jam add to the greatness of this Culinary Adventure..Fancy That also offers Tea's,Jams and Clotted Cream for sale for you to take home and continue your adventure..Ladies and Gentleman this is absolutely a must try experience if you haven't been already..👍👍👍👍👍

A Very special high tea experience!

Fancy That is a wonderful little place that serves tea by reservation only. The decoration is over the top and beautiful! Just what you would see in a sugar plum fairy dream! You pick your tea from 100s of teas and it is served in individual bone china teapots. And then the scones, finger sandwiches and tiny little desserts are served on a three-tier serving dish. The food is delicious and the experience is so much fun down to the little bunny shaped spoon rests! It is a special occasion place to share with your girlfriends. Please go. You will be in for a treat!

The best of the best

Fancy is one of the best. Sarah & Brad's attention to detail, customer satisfaction, and providing the perfect selections for their afternoon tea is outstanding. It doesn't matter if you are in house with a reservation, or getting your order to-go, it is the same flawless offerings in one delightful package. They are worth the trip. Check them out. You won't be disappointed. 5 stars every time.

Great tea experience!!

I try and visit twice a year as the menu and decorations are ever changing. Always a new great experience. Tasty finger sandwiches and scones as well as desserts. Wide variety of teas to select from. Delightful tea shop inside as well. Best to make reservations, but beware they book fast....months in advance.

I cannot say enough about Fancy That. What an incredible surprise. From the amazing whimsical decor to the impeccable service, you couldn’t ask for a better afternoon. The owners are so kind and accommodating. I have found my new favorite place.

OMG! I HAD A BLAST! The food is delicious, the owners are WONDERFUL and service on point. What a change of pace for two girlfriends on a girls day together. Everything made in house with exquisite detail, and a wife-husband team that just rock it! You can take whatever you can't stuff! Tea choices are insane! These people have a tea problem! Absolutely delightful in every way!

Best Place to be

Everything is excellent here. Book a reservation or get it to go. Every offering is perfection. I have never been disappointed here. The place is beautiful with a wonderful gift shop with all kinds flavorful Teas. Sarah and Brad are superior to all others in all ways.

Disrespectful Owner

I tried to place an order for two people (tea only). The owner, Sarah, was rude and unwelcoming. As a British person who enjoys tea, I believe EVERYONE should have the right to experience the joy of teatime and its meaning. Don't worry, Ms. Sarah, I shall not be back and shall relay the message to other friends. Huh? I have no idea what this reviewer is referring to. Maybe this was a walk in? I don't take walk-ins (many tearooms do not take walk-ins, so it's a good idea to double check before visiting one) and I don't serve tea-only. I serve only a prix fixe menu, by reservation only, which is made clear on the website. If someone walks in hoping for something that I don't offer, I explain. I might be busy, but I am never rude about it. Disappointment is understandable, lashing out however, is uncalled for.

Not What I Expected

The first time I was there was good, this time not so much. I was listed as Vegan and being vegan is a great opportunity to make really tasty foods. The only person receiving the The Tiered Tower was the one of all four of us that was not vegan or vegetarian. The others were served on regular plates. My cuke n cream type sandwich was quite flavorless with not crisp cucumber slices. I also got a peanut butter n jelly....Really.!!! Peanut butter n Jelly....unbelievable! The cookies I received tasted like plain cookies from a grocery store plastic tray. I had a couple of treats that were quite good as well.. Our waiter was rather nonchalant. A lady came out later, very cheerily...hi......how are things. None of us wanted to say we thought most of our foods were very below par for the price. She seemed very nice n would of like her to have waited on us. Our first time there would have received a good review so we expected much better than what we received. We drove a considerable distance to get there.

I am sad and disappointed to learn in a review that you and or your friends did not like the food, when you were recently here for Tea; please know that a lot of effort went into preparing food for your table. I can completely understand being reluctant to mention a problem in person (I checked on your table, myself to see how you were doing because I was excited about some new vegan and GF desserts that I now have in house) but why not reach out by text or email after the fact to let me know? I would have refunded you immediately and I would have been happy to do it because I am crazy about teatime and fairly obsessed with making sure people have a great experience. I decided to open my doors to people (this Tea Room is also my home) in order to share my passion for tea, to make people happy and to spread joy. I absolutely never want anyone to be disappointed.
