It has been years since I was on island. I was looking forward to stopping at the Black Dog. I had to have an apple fritter. During the course of my stay I ended up having two. The first was better than the second as there was a plethora of cinnamon and plentiful glaze on the fritter. My second stop... More

Just picked up food to head to Ferry, breakfast, coffee and muffins. Service was quick and just next to boarding of Ferry.

We came at 2 on a Wednesday and they just had a bunch of donuts (with a fly on one of them, inside the bakery case) and a few cookies to sell. There were some croissants as well. I don't know if we were just really late? The place seemed sad to me. We left without buying anything.

The black dog never fails. Always a great selection of baked goods and light fare and an assortment of coffee and beverages for the ferry ride home or to refresh after a day of shopping.

Delicious soups. The Clam chowder is always a knock-out. We've been going for years. Always good for a quick lunch with good sandwiches and salads served cafeteria-counter style.

We always take special bakery items to our hotel staff, everyone loves their cookies, cakes and pastries. I would not order a cake from anywhere else on island. Their hand made hamburgers and fries here are absolutely delicious and we also love the chicken salad, and fish and chips. The food is different at different locations, so this one is... More

Very pricey for what you get. The baked goods are just OK. Sandwiches are OK. Definitely not the best on MV.

I frequently dream about the pastries from the Black Dog because they are out of this world!!!!! I prefer this location to the one down by the ferry docks as it tends to be a little less crowded. Can't recommend stopping here enough!!! It's usually our first stop off the ferry!!!

I love the organic coffee. I purchased two bags to take home with me. I wish they sold beans and not just ground coffee. My other critique would be that I wish they served gluten free muffins at all of their locations (I tried 3 and found the option at one).

Part of a compound that includes several mens, woman's and kids shops in a great central location. Bakery is amazing. Get the salted chocolate cookies. Black Dog Tavern has great casual fare intake of complex. Good burgers, salads and more. Nice back patio outside and main room overlooks active harbor. They also have a Black Dog small clipper ship trip... More
