I am generally disappointed by restaurants that have "reputations" ...... and gift shops ... and branded products .... and online sales. Been to The Black Dog twice now, once for breakfast and once for lunch and am pleasantly surprised by how good it is. The blackened swordfish sandwich I recently had was even better than the one I make myself.... More

This was a great place to eat. Prices reasonable and food was fantastic. We had burgers which were huge, on awesome buns, fries were awesome! A chicken salad and kids had chicken tenders. Everything was hot and quick. our server was super. We had no complaints, and sat outdoors. It was gorgeous! The only problem was the restrooms need more... More

We dined here twice during our visit on the Vineyard. Both times sat on the outside patio. Lunch was very good (Sangria and a lobster roll) and dinner was delicious - very accommodating for our large group of 9. Was worried the Black Dog name would be the only good thing about it, but was happily wrong. Excellent food! Would... More

I'm afraid they are running on the name. We stopped in for breakfast. It was good at best. Service was average. Had to leave the restaurant to walk around to the bakery to get a muffin. I would recommend trying a place that isn't relying on their name.

Once of the few, if not the only place we found, to get an adult beverage in Vineyard Haven. We sat on the porch looking out at the marina which was very nice. The food was good and plentiful but it is pricey. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.

Eating on the deck is chill and fun. I had the lemon lasagna which was pretty damn good but have been obsessing over the lobster roll my neighbor ate! Huge! All meat! I can't stop thinking about it!!!!! Desserts were also great.

We had a fabulous meal last night. My wife and I took our four kids--three teens and a tween--and were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food even better. Don't miss the clam bake, a bucket chuck full of lobster, clams, corn and other goodies. All of us left full and satisfied. New England-style seafood at its best.

We ate here on our first night on Martha's Vineyard, and there was no need to return. The food was average or better, and the service was the same. It is a cool location and fun to see. If you have a need for several meals on the Vineyard, this is a must stop, but I would not make it... More

Came here to grab a quick bite for breakfast. Ordered coffee and an egg sandwich. Service was great. There's not much seating inside so best to order for to go. The little shop next to the bakery is great for browsing while waiting for your order.

I had been looking forward to eating here for months before our trip to Martha's Vineyard. Unfortunately it was a complete letdown. The hostess was rude, our server well below average, and the food was disappointing. The highlight was getting to watch one of the Black Dog Tall Ships set sail. I would tell any friend visiting the Vineyard not... More
