This small grocery store is under new management and is staying open until October now. They have a terrific deli in the back making creative sandwiches with lots of choices. Fair prices for quality food. They also have homemade desserts, souvenirs etc.

Jams is a wonderful grocery store snd the only place to shop in South Truro for a great sandwich, coffee, cookies, certain basic groceries as well as wine and local newspapers. I personally love the staff who always greet me warmly even though I am...a seasonal visitor. I can’t believe some of these negative reviews since Jams is only open during the vacation season. People should be grateful that they don’t have to drive to Wellfleet or Provincetown for staples!More

My family and I visit Truro every year and were excited to get our Jams sandwiches. I have purchased these overpriced lunches for years in turn supporting the local business to stay around. Tuesday was no exception! We purchased three sandwiches, three drinks and a...bag of chips. I wanted to order a rotisserie chicken and was told I had to pay for it when I ordered it a day in advance. No problem! The checkout girl expressed confusion but assured me she had spoken with her manager earlier and was told the correct way to order it! I paid cash, didn’t receive a receipt and offered to tell the deli person about the order to help her out as she was handling a new customer. We go back the next day to order more sandwiches and to pick up the chicken along with some premade salads for dinner. All was fine until I get the chicken and it says “unpaid.” Now, I’m not trying to get a free chicken out of any place but I had been told the prior day by both deli and checkout that their policy was to pay in advance. Based on the amount i had paid it made sense to me. Not having been given a receipt the prior day I had no way of knowing but trusted their policy. When I questioned it, which last time I checked customers are allowed to do, I got barked at by the owner/manager. We had a conversation about this at which point I said, “I’m not trying to get a chicken out of you.” A more experienced manager who understands how to handle a price discrepancy could have brought me over to the computer to review the receipt from the day before and it would have easily and quickly been handled. But Dawn doesn’t have that skill set and barked at me so I retreated, uncomfortable and questioning. We went home and talked over what had happened. Based on Wednesday’s receipt , it appeared that I had indeed paid for two chickens. My mistake was in returning to the store to point out the error to Dawn. Normally I wouldn’t even bother but their stuff is so pricey and she was so obnoxious and felt she had “gotten me” I mistakenly returned to point out the error. When I walked in she was gleeful and approached me with a smirk. She proceeded to mock me and get personal saying, “I knew you would be like this yesterday “ and “do you have a question or just a comment?” We then started to go to the cash register but she followed me mocking me the whole time in front of other customers. I decided to let her crazy fly; I was and remain so surprised at her horrible and rude manner TO a customer who had a legitimate question in front of other customers. She followed me out the door saying, “I feel sorry for you. You’re on vacation and you’re miserable. Go back to your miserable life.” I hope Sebastian her husband reads this and as a co-owner talks to Dawn about how she deals with people and situations. It seems she hates the people who visit from out of town yet she relies on them to pay for her overpriced products. News flash: I can and will spend my money somewhere else. Save your energy and stay away from crazy.More

I don't think you can base a review because they didn't fill your water bottle. Most restaurants would not stop for a walk in to fill your water bottle off street unless it was emergency. That's kind of irreverent. Buy a water.

When you spend $30 on sandwiches at a deli place, you'd think they would be able to provide a glass of water on request, but not here. I mean, they make food, so they must have potable water available. And we had a water bottle,...so lack of a glass wasn't the problem. It was more the lack of graciousness. On top of it all, the sandwiches were just OK (for example, panini not heated through), but very pricey. It may be the only game, pretty much, in Truro, but Wellfleet isn't very far away and there are a lot of great places to eat there.More

I had exactly the same experience as another poster, Riley A., who posted on Yelp did. I am a cyclist and regular customer, walking in and asking for a quick tap-water refill of my reusable bike water container. The owner was at the register and...he just said no. He said that I could buy bottled water if I wanted. I told him there's no need to waste more plastic, all I needed was a spigot and a sink. Denied that they had a bathroom, even. There is really something wrong with the owner of Jams. Just not very nice and not customer friendly. What type of mean spirit would deny a customer a water refill on a hot day? I was shocked. The guy walking out after me, also a bike person, said to me "did he REALLY just tell you he couldn't refill your water"? He was shocked too. This friendly man actually guided me to his nearby friend's house and got me some water there. That's the way to be... If you, my fellow potential customers, care about the ethics and humanity of the places you patronize, I would stay away from Jams.More

General store but also has a sandwich order area with plenty of choices. My smokes salmon sandwich was very tasty. My wife liked the egg salad.

Possibly the driest chicken salad I’ve ever had! And no flavor whatsoever. Thai noodles also without flavor. And a total rip off to boot. BTW, there were also no ingredients or expiration dates listed on the labels. Is that legal? Owners should be ashamed of...themselves, seriously.More

Our family, eight of us, went their for sandwiches. There had to be a least 40 different combination of meats, fish and breads to choose from. It was excellent food and very friendly staff
