Had not been here in quite a while so we decided to stop in. The food was absolutely fantastic just as we remembered. Forgot how great the minestrone soup was! The service however was not great! The waiter was actually very good it just seemed...he had too many parties as if they were understaffed. We had a couple of drinks and decided to stop into the Apollo Lounge to have one more drink. We literally walked in at 8pm on a Saturday night only to be told they were closing for the night. We started laughing because we thought they were joking! Unfortunately they were not! We decided to go back into the Empire Grill and have a drink at the bar. There was nobody at all in the bar. The bartender was very attentive and made great drinks and then disappeared for quite some time. In fact the other couple we were with left while we waited to pay our bill. We watched in amazement as the bartender was all over the dining room helping waiters etc. while we waited to pay or bill so we could leave. Then when we finally thought she was coming back to the bar she stopped at the hostess station to answer the phone which literally took another 5 minutes. Too bad as the food was actually great but the service was awful and there was clearly nobody in charge over the 3 hours we were there. There are way too many other restaurants in the area to tolerate this!More

We went here for baked stuffed lobster for our anniversary. The lobsters were great with Ritz type stuffing, best I can remember having in a long time. Service was very good, no problems noted at all. We will go back again for a special occasion....Recommended!!!More

My husband and I come here often on Thursday evenings. Jenn makes the best martinis around. I wish the management would replenish the bar of the Lillet and Stoli Blueberry. Those are our favorites and we will be missing them for the Vespa martini and...Blueberry Kamikaze. Otherwise I love this place always relaxing and delicious.More

Choose the Empire Grill at the Venus for dinner because my dining partner and I had not visited in a few years despite it being only a few miles from home. There's no problem parking here as there are lots of places in their huge...parking area. Park on the east side of the building if you're going to the Empire Grill. There's a long inviting bar at the front wall of the room as you enter but opted for a table. Starting with a couple of glasses of wine we shared some great bread with a spicy olive oil dipping sauce. It was different but delicious. Both of us ordered a cup their "award winning" clam chowder which did not disappoint. It had lots of clams and a smooth, sweet buttery flavor. Next we had a small salad which consisted of fresh greens, grape tomatoes and onion. The blue cheese dressing on mine was terrific. We both choose the lobster casserole for our main course. Although it was good, the lobster tail meat was a little tough but still tasty and filling. The service was great; the waiter well informed and accommodating.More

Went here to celebrate with friends for their 48th wedding anniversary. The waitress was very nice and they knew we had a special celebration however no mention whatsoever!!! I would have given them a 5 vs.4. I am not a lobster lover and neither is...my husband but he and my girlfriend ordered the 2 1/2 pound baked stuff lobster and it was AMAZING! I actually stole several bites of my husbands and I never eat lobster. My chowder and chicken francais was cooked perfectly. It was not very busy when we were there so to me there is no reason why they blew it when it came to mentioning Happy Anniversary to our friends. They go every year and you guys missed an opportunity.More
