Our dinner started off with hot, delicious popovers! The menu is standard seafood and beef. The fried fish platter I enjoyed was hot, fresh and delicious. My mother's lobster bisque was tasty and creamy; the serving size was more than adequate. She also enjoyed an arugula salad with apples and a very nice vinaigrette. This was an unplanned stop on... We certainly heard a lot of feedback from our hotel to visit Anthony's and of course the nice ambience and history it had. We were there for lunch on reservation for a party of 10, and was just second to the last day of our stay in Boston for a convention. Sitting was quite fast as not much of people... More

Not sure why I go back outside of a nice setting a great view and good popovers. The wine list is ok. The food is getting worse. I usually go there due to out of town guests. My favorite salad I use to recommend changed their dressing or they put the wrong one on. Th appetizers are over priced. Sad... More

On 8/7/16 a group of 14 of us had dinner at Anthony's. We all sat together, and the meal was very pleasant, until we had to pay the bill. The management refused to accept separate checks. It allowed us to pay separately as long as all of the payments were identical. So it took us half an hour to calculate... More

Six couples had a reunion dinner, having dined there 40 years ago. Food was OK, but prices were high. Our waitress, among other things, served 2 baked potatoes on the same plate, then picked one up with her hand and put it on someone's plate. She also adjusted the butter with her fingers. When we asked for a pitcher of... More

We have been to the cafe at the Hawthorne by the Sea for the last three years regularly. The bar menu is amazing and the two sophisticated , caretaking bartenders are from a different era and provide you with more than you can imagine. There are wonderful fried clams, terrific lobster roll and beautiful scenery please come and enjoy in... More

The food was fine, the service wasn't bad. Paying the bill? A nightmare. The management refused to split the bill unless those of us paying with a credit card split the bill into exactly even amounts. Considering there were vast disparities as to what various people spent on dinner, that was ridiculous. To try to speed the process, my husband... More

I was very disappointed with my meal but let me tell you the positives and negatives. Positives: wonderful view, terrific service (our waiter was Alex and he was very nice), plenty on parking, yummy popovers and old world charm Negatives: over priced for the type of menu items. I had the swordfish sandwich and it was a tiny, thin, scrawny,... More

As a family we have been coming to Anthony's for 13 years (I am in Chicago dad and family live in lynn). Anthony's lobster is our staple - fresh and classically prepared and dependably above board. We have just left tonight's dinner there. The server was great but she was disadvantaged by rhe dysfunction of management and bus staff. I... More

Always enjoy a nice lobster dinner with great pop overs. The location is superb with great view of Boston skyline. Sit outside of the weather is nice.
