For years we have made a point to stop for lunch or dinner at The Wayside Inn when we are in the Boston area or even traveling down the coast from the north. We were in Boston over the weekend and had Sunday dinner at the Inn and as always the food was very good. On Sundays there is a... More

Consistently good food and service in an interesting historic setting. This is not gourmet nouveau cuisine, but good "Yankee" food.

Excellent food, drinks, service, and value. Everyone had a great time and the staff is professional and very helpful. The Prime Rib and Strawberry Shortcake were stand-outs from the banquet menu.

You are eating here for the setting and historical significance. The fare is average at best. The menu is varied American tavern food. Service is average. I took my senior mother for lunch. The restaurant seems to cater to seniors at this time of day. My mom enjoyed "watching the old people" while she ate. I found the food salty...geared... More

This is a beautiful old inn. Situated on a peaceful road, it is reminiscent of days gone by. It is very busy so reservations are advisable. Unlike so many nouveau restaurants the portions are very ample. First there is a cracker and cheese plate. After that, a bread basket arrives with an array if fresh baked breads and muffins. The... The Wayside Inn serves great New England food in a charming environment that makes you feel that you have gone back in time to the American Revolutionary days of George Washington. Ask your waitress/waiter to tell you about some ghostly encounters at the Inn......

Attended a special evening with Longfellow: dinner and presentation. It was fixed priced menu consisting of a cheese, fruits and crackers, cold soup, champagne toast, lemon chicken with vegetables and potatoes, and vanilla ice cream on apple pie as well as coffee or tea. The presentation was very interesting, the food was good, and the atmosphere was most pleasant. We had... More

Love the town of Sudbury, MA and loved this restaurant. The history is so interesting- 300 year old inn and restaurant and oldest continuing operating restaurant in US! But the food and service make it exceptional. Marina, our waitress has been there for 40 years and she is clearly an expert!! Would highly recommend. Tomato Bisque was best I ever... More

Meals are traditional New England fare, and well prepared. Breakfast come with the room. I didn't have lunch there, but dinner offered some great choices, especially liked the New England clam chowder and the Salmon dijonnaise.
