My husband and I stayed there for the first time. We have been in the pub before for lunch and the food was amazing. Desserts were just wonderful. It's such a treat to spend time admiring the history. The hotel room was beautiful. Made to look old but with all the modern feel of a new hotel. We had the... More

Stopped on a Friday for dinner before working late with a co-worker/friend. We were seated quickly by a friend hostess. We were in the dining area on the lower level adjacent to the bakery. It was not overly busy on a Friday night and was not loud or obnoxious. The waitress arrived quickly, welcomed us and took our drink orders.... More

We had a fantastic supper here while staying at a nearby inn during a major snowstorm. It was the only restaurant open, and was operating with minimal staff. But the atmosphere was cozy and friendly, and our meals were very good. My turkey dinner was extraordinary - real turkey (not deli) with homemade stuffing, squash, and mashed potatoes - all... More

If you've never been to the Publick House it is quite an experience. The Tap Room has a huge open fireplace where they probably at one time actually cooked meals from there. Upon your arrival you receiver a bread basket with such lovely offerings as pecan caramel nut rolls, cornbread fresh rolls and soft butter. Menu offers some standards that... More

Ordered the park loin chop, a bit over cooked. Decent selection of beer on tap. Not a bad place. Expecting more of an English pub feel... a bit too clean and bright with Sinatra playing overhead

The Inn was quaint and very historic. The fireplace was wonderful and gave the atmosphere a real New England feel. We went as a family birthday celebration for my sister and myself. We ate in the Main Dining Room. Upon being seated a server did deliver ice water to our glasses. That is where the service ended. Our waitress was... More

I actually dined twice in my four day visit to the area. The weekend brunch had your usual breakfast fare with a few extra twists and delightful surprises. Indian pudding was a surprise and I still need to find the recipe. Reservations are recommended as they fill up for dinner. The menu was a mix of classic and unique new... More

We were there on New Year's Eve. We couln'td get in the Historic Tap Room which seemed nicer but was booked and ended up at Ebenezer's Tavern. It proved to be a very nice place, warm and intimate, much more pleasant than the Tap Room which was noisy and really packed. Food is great, large portions, and service is both... More

I was fortunate enough to be the guest speaker at the Joshua Hyde Library's annual "Stewing Over Mysteries" held at the Inn's historic Tap Room. Just walking into the warmth from the enormous fireplace and the hum of the happy attendees enjoying what may well be the best beef stew my husband and I have ever had (outside of my... More
