Comfy pub in the basement of the famous Red Lion Inn. Opted for this casual spot instead of the main dining room because we wanted a more casual atmosphere. The fact that live music was included was a big plus. We were immediately greeted by a friendly server. I opted for the chicken sausage. It was inedible. My friend's turkey... More

convenient and has extended/late night hours, but the acoustics are horrible, and the pub food average.

Went at 9:00 PM for a post-theatre supper. Crowded, so we were forced to sit up front, next to the musician. Not a good idea if you want to talk. I had the Cobb Salad. Very tasty despite no avocado and very little bacon. My husband had grilled cheese with ham and roasted peppers. I thought it was great. The... More

This is much less expensive than the restaurants upstairs and it is open later (that is, past 9:00). There is live entertainment. The service is excellent. But the popular items on the menu may sell out early, which is disappointing.

After dinner upstairs in the fine dining restaurant we ventured down to the basement to visit the original establishment Pub. Even if you don't drink or want to eat you need to venture down the stairs into this 1700's pub and get a feel of what early settlers and travellers through the area experienced. We were fortunate to have the... More

Dropped for a quick drink and bite. Place has a real sense of history having been started in 1735 as a stage coach stop. Upstairs there was a picture of George Washington but did not look like it was signed. The service was sporadic. Young staff who looked like they were forced to be there. The food was not great.... A great subterranean hole in the wall bar. My sister and I had drinks here while staying at the red lion inn. The bar was packed, a great atmosphere. There was a blue grass group playing which was a nice surprise. The bartender suggested a local gin which was on point. Definitely a must visit while in Stockbridge and really... More

The Lions den offers live music seven nights a week and for the most part it's all enjoyable. Occasionally get a band that you wish to spend little bit more time in the garage practicing but the atmosphere is quaint on the clientele is mostly made up of visitors at the tables and locals at the bar. There are a... More

Must stop during a Berkshires visit. So many cool items to look at and walk around the pub and also the loungey reception area and fireplace. Great drinks and food. super cozy in the fall and winter. You could waste an afternoon there easily.

One of my favorite places to eat. Sunday night is turkey night - it's the real McCoy. If you're getting a burger, you gotta eat upstairs to get the fries. The chips are "homemade" but they aren't as good as fries. Amanda is the waitress as she understands "service"! I alway eat at the bar - in Winter, the fire... More

Description
The Lion's Den pub, located downstairs at The Red Lion Inn, offers entertainment seven nights a week, and never a cover charge. There's different entertainment each night, with regular appearances by local performers including David Grover, the Sun Mountain Fiddler, and the Housatonic Philharmonic, offering everything from acoustic folk to R&B, and reggae to the blues. Some nationally recognized performers have been known to grace our humble pub stage from time to time - James Taylor, Lauren Ambrose and Roger Salloom among them.On chilly nights ask for a table by the fireplace and enjoy a genuine pint of ale or stout, a glass of your favorite wine, or a mug of hot mulled cider - all accompanied by our classic pub fare. The Lion's Den is open (until 1 a.m. on weekends), with entertainment from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday and entertainment from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. House guests can access the Lion's Den through the Tavern, or by entering beneath the red awning on Main Street.
