It prides itself on its age and so it should. Food, service and ambience is old fashioned and outdated. Not quite true the ambience is authentic pub but the rest No.

From the moment you enter this restaurant you are in a much earlier time period of New England. The dining room is beautiful and very romantic. The menu is pure New England. I saw items on the menu that I have not had in years. My desert was Indian Pudding. I am running ahead of myself. For dinner I had... More

We generally frequent the Lion's Den downstair - this lovely inn's tavern and music venue. For a special occasion though, we had lunch in the main dining room prior to a theater event. It was superb! The food is high quality and tasty. The service is excellent - friendly, accurate and efficient. At lunch you have a couple of breakfast... More

While staying at the Red Lion Inn for a girl weekend my friend and I dined in the Tavern twice. The first time was right after our lengthily drive there...me from upstate NY and her from RI. I had a delicious bowl of clam chowder. I really miss New England seafood since moving to NY. It did not disappoint. It... More

If you go to the Berkshires in the winter, go during the Christmas time decorations at the Red Lion Inn. Even if you don't stay at their inn, you can enjoy all the wonderful happenings during the holidays.

I have found good eats in New England to be challenging. Not so at the Red Lion. Fantastic lunch on the porch. Only 6 tables so much lees noise then the main room. I had the open faced prime rib. Fantastic! The cheese was baked on top for a great flavor. Good French chardonnay. A wonderful surprise. I wish I... More

This is one of the most charming inns in New England with a very interesting history. Architecturally, the inn is striking and the interior is filled with antiques of all sorts. One little sitting room is filled with Canton and Chinese export china and victorian furniture. Check out the Wooten desk. The inn dining room is stunning, but because it... More

Stopped in for dinner after an amazing drive through the fall foliage on I90. Even though it was a busy Sunday night, we were seated promptly, and the plates were served promptly after ordering. Large portions, and very fresh ingredients. As others state, the risotto is so creamy and full of flavor. And they have the most amazing collection of... More

The place was a little busy, but the hostess did seat us within an hour. Very busy Saturday lunch in October. Fireplaces were going. The place was a bee hive of activity. We were offered the apple cider with a shot of rum, which we enjoyed. I had the chicken pot pie; much more than I expected with the flaky... More
