We randomly came across Martsa on Elm while walking around Somerville last night and we are so happy we did! The food is very vegan friendly with so many options to choose from. Chino, our friendly and knowledgeable server, made several excellent recommendations. We had the spinach and potato dumplings, the spicy pumpkin curry, fried veggie noodles and a side... More

I've never had Tibetan food before so naturally didn't know what to expect. The food was delicious, very flavoursome and fresh. Soup was fulsome and flavoursome. And pumpkin and potato balls were yum. Our waiter was gracious and attentive. We took a bottle of wine from the liquor store right next door which was perfect. Highly recommended. Thanks so much!

Although this restaurant does not accept reservations for times after 6:30 PM - at least on weekend - there was plenty of seating in this comfortable and casual Tibetan/Nepalese restaurant. Our waiter was attentive, helpful and very funny. Our group of 6 had both omnivores and vegetarians and everyone found dishes to please. Many of us shared dishes. Of those... More

Excellent dinner and service. This is a BYOB restaurant. My daughter and daughter in law are vegetarian and had lots of great dishes to choose from. My son who is gluten free had a lamb dish that was outstanding. I had a pork curry with pumpkin which was great. Portions are a good size and entree prices are in the... More

We were with friends looking for a restaurant to eat at for dinner nearby the candlepin bowling place while we waited for a lane to open. We were lucky to stumble upon Martsa and thought it would be fun to try something new. None of us had tried Tibetan food before, so we asked the waiter for his suggestions on... More

This was a lucky choice - we searched for a healthy restaurant in Somerville and Martsa popped up. After feeling a bit rushed by our waiter, even though it was not a busy night at all, we settled on our meals and ordered the ginger and lime tea. We were new to the restaurant and it would have been wise... More

I lived in the Tibetan section of Kathmandu, Nepal for a year, so I've had lots of Tibetan food. Martsa covers the gamut from Chinese to Indian to Nepali to Tibetan. All the dishes we had were very good, but not always authentic. For example, their Momo have a nice chewy wrapper, but, they taste more like Chinese dumplings without... More

I came here with a friend for lunch on my birthday. The waiter recommended a lamb dish that was really delicious, and he was incredibly friendly and talked to us at the table for a bit. My friend actually recommended the place because the same waiter had recommended such a delicious dish to her the previous time she ate there!... More

First the good: I enjoyed my entrée, which was lamb and butternut squash in a sweet sauce, the whole thing quite good. My wife and the other couple with us seemed to like their entrees also, although no exclamations of delight. On the other hand, the dumpling appetizer was OK but nothing special. My complaints: First and foremost a clueless... More

Martsa has only gotten better with time. The small cosy place in Davis Square is fun to go to and the food is delicious. We ask for recommendations and have always been delighted with their suggestions.
